“Another Fabulous Holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

I stayed in a Watergarden Villa, perfect, quiet out of any wind that appeared, a minutes walk to the lagoon or pool what more could you ask for. The staff could not be more helpfull or friendly. Would highly recommend the Muri Beachcomber. Thanks everybody for a wonderful time, I will be back next year.

We stayed in a Watergarden unit at the Beachcomber and loved it. We'd love to return next year! an excellent roomy unit with a great verandah area for outdoor entertaining. The Beachcomber is perfectly situated on the gorgeous Muri beach. Lovely friendly staff. Great to have all the extras provided - paddleboards, kayaks, snorkelling gear. A good pool as well.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

We stayed in a garden unit for 6 nights last week. The unit was perfect, well equipped and comfortable. We had a lovely time, it was great being next to the pool, the kids loved being able to jump in and out all day. The beach was gorgeous and it was fun to kayak to the islands. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We hope to return soon.

My third visit to Muri Beachcomber, and I'm sure there will be a fourth! Almost feel like a "local" now... know my way around, feel totally at home here. The Beachcomber has basic "self-catering" facilities, and within walking distance, along the beach, there is a choice of 5 different restaurants, the newest one being Vietnamese. Most days we would have breakfast in our room or under our little verandah, and would make our own lunch, although some days we headed off on the scooter and had lunch elsewhere, sometimes a picnic, and most evenings we would walk along the beach to dine at one of the restaurants. There are a number of little "shops" where you can get basic supplies like butter, beer, wine, frozen (delicious) prawns and fresh produce. There are also lots of little roadside shelters where you can get fresh tomatoes, bananas & coconuts. The lagoon is so inviting... the water just warm enough so it doesn't take your breath away when you plunge in, but just cool enough to be refreshing. We made good use of the kayaks provided by the beachcomber, paddling across to a nearby island which was in full sun during the afternoons (our side was starting to shade over around 3pm) A short scooter ride away is a magical spot to snorkle... teeming with tropical fish, the water crystal clear.
If you want to just chill out, relax, read a book, do sudoku puzzles, and have the greatest stress being "where will we dine tonight?" then you will really enjoy your stay.

If you want night-clubs and excitement, this place might not be for you.

PS. The have chickens running around wild... which means there are also roosters! If you are a light sleeper, you might consider packing earplugs if you enjoy sleeping in!

PPS. If you are there on a Sunday, the choir in church is amazing... Most people's concept of a choir is a bunch of people singing out the front. In Rarotonga, when the choir starts up, you suddenly realise that you are sitting in the middle of it! A truly amazing experience! But be warned, the church pews are hard, and the service is long (take a cushion!) and the congregation is invited to morning tea afterwards (again, the seats are hard, and the morning tea is long!)

Room Tip: Ask for a beachside room (the garden ones are for families with children)

To return here is like returning home. Reading the other reviews just repeats our thoughts of the place. The staff treat us like family and absolutely nothing is any trouble. The position is perfect with everything within walking distance. No wonder we keep coming back!

Room Tip: If you want seclusion the garden units are for you, with the seaview units allowing more interaction...

We stayed in a "seaview' for 3 weeks. The unit was vey comfortable and clean, could very easily have stayed longer !.The set up of the whole place is great, with the pool and family units just that extra distance away from the "couples" units, and a convenient laundry with dryer close by.
The staff and owners are very helpful and friendly, nothing seemed to every be an inconvenience to them. Everything was highly maintained..the grounds always spotless..I cannot fault this place and HIGHLY recommend it. Muri Beach is a very popular spot on the island, a scenic wonderland
that is close to everything and the Muri Beachcomber rates right up there as one of the best
places to stay. Thankyou , our holiday was great.

Room Tip: Seaview units have a wonderful view .

This resort was so relaxed and friendly, we had the first week of our honeymoon here and really enjoyed the hospitality. We stayed in a villa very private. Easy to walk to some great restaurants and local shops. Enjoyed this much more than the expensive hotel down the beach. This was great for a beer on the deck in the Arvo. Meeting other guests loved it!

Room Tip: We stayed in a villa plenty of room with veranda and outdoor chairs
