Just returned back from the Te Vara Nui cultural show. I don't know where to start... It was AMAZING! I am so full from the dinner & the show was equally as good. Ill start with dinner:

Buffet paradise... I'm not normally one to like buffet's but this was delish. It felt so nice to have normal decent food. I felt like I hadn't had a proper meal all week (I'm on my honeymoon so we have been eating out the whole time). There were soups, make your own salads, ready made salads, fruit, rice, bbq'd fish, grilled chicken, traditional island food. There was just everything! And plenty to go around as well. Most people went back for more as it was so good.

Desert was equally as good. Again there were fruit platters, fruit salads, choc cake, coconut slice, panacotta, tiramisu & loads more. It was food heaven!

The show was awesome. No matter where u sit you get a great view. It's fabulous to sit & listen to traditional island music & watch the dancing. Afterwards they involve the crowd. It's great entertainment & a good way to experience the cultural side of the Cook Islands.

I reccommend anyone who visits raro MUST do this.

We loved the whole experience. From the food to the entertainment and even the people at our table!
We got placed at a bar table with four seats where the waitress took our drinks order. Several minutes later a couple of ladies joined us (we had met them previously on another excursion) we had a ball! The food was divine, buffet that was never ending. And suprisingly we weren't waiting for ages. The entertainment was spetacular! We could have stayed all night but the transfer buses were filling up.
And all the way home we had a few locals singing and performing on the bus!

Te Vara Nui Village was an amazing experience. They picked us up on a padded seated truck from our accommodation and the entertainment started from the moment you stepped onto the pickup bus/truck. All open air. We were given the most beautiful meal (Buffet) and the entertainment was outstanding. George the Host for the evening personally welcomed everyone to the village, table by table which we were very impressed with. The lagoon pageant style Raro dancing and the fire dancers were absoluely awesome. The Cook Island drumming at Te Vara Nui is electrifying. I highly recommend a visit to Te Vara Nui Village for a greater insight into the Islands rich heritage and amazing cultural talent. My wife & children & I, thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience & recommends everyone who visits Rarotonga, to make sure you get to have the Te Vara Nui experience. You won't regret it.
