Great place to stay, we stayed in the 3 bedroom villa, own pool right on the lagoon, quiet and peaceful. Truly a luxury resort with great staff especially Jane and Todd who treated us like family, nothing was to much trouble. Would love to stay there again and would recommend to everyone.

We stayed at Te Manava for almost a week. It was comfortable and nice enough and we would probably stay there again, especially as it is virtually impossible to find other upmarket accommodation in Rarotonga that allows children.
On the upside:
- Spacious rooms
- Private pool (though freezing cold)
- Cooking facilities
- Able to use Pacific Resort beach and facilities
On the downside:
- Very dim lighting so at night when we wanted to read, we all had to use torches or our phones to see our books.
- As we were paying over $1000 per night, it seemed ridiculous that we would have to pay $85 each time we wanted the room cleaned. It should definitely be included, especially seeing we were told that most of the Cook Islander hotel staff only get paid the minimum wage of $5 per hour, so it's not like it would be a huge extra cost to the hotel.
- Further on from the above comment, we were very saddened to hear that the staff are on such low wages as it certainly isn't cheap to live in the Cook Islands - supermarket items, fruit and veges are very expensive, so it must be difficult for locals to make ends meet.
- We felt that the woman who runs the place is a bit annoying - we felt she talked too much, too often and wanted to over-involve herself, a bit like a mother hen.
Tips:
- The hotel can organise transfers to/from the airport but these were very expensive. We ended up booking through http://www.rarotongaairporttransfer.com/ which was less than half price and very efficient.
- Keep all your food in airtight bags/containers. The ants were everywhere and got into absolutely everything.

No words can explain how fabulous Temanava is, it exceeded our expectations. Its such a breath of fresh air to have luxury in a gorgeous location with such a high level of service, after the bad service we received prior. Temanava has everything you could ask for, its top class which is a reflection of great management together with the best hosts Jane & Todd who go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect and memorable. From the moment you walk in Jane greets you with a warm smile, she is knowledgeable & assists you with every need, she goes out of her way to give you touring advise, no task is too hard. She truly is an asset and I wish a lot of other local staff in Raro had of this service. We were upgraded to a Beachfront Villa 5C which was glorious, décor is exquisite, a lot of attention to detail, self-contained with all you need. The views are breathtaking, your own private pool overlooking Muri beach. Its truly paradise we enjoyed the tranquillity, privacy & luxury. The beds comfortable and we loved the side by side showers.

Jane arranged for babysitter Anna to watch our 18mth son while we got spoilt at their day spa. Anna’s great with children, I recommend her. Im a Spa lover and was blown away by their spa, we had a couples massage & facial which also included a bonus foot massage & soak. Best massage, we loved every minute of the pampering, the scalp & hair massage & facial was devine. I could not whipe the smile off my face, we were on cloud 9. My skin was glowing like it hadn’t glown for years, everyone commented on my skin. Words cannot express how devine Temanavas day spa is, I could not stop raving about it during the rest of our holiday and highly recommend it.

Were now back in Adelaide and dream of the day that we could go back to Temanava which feels like home, see Jane and have another day spa. That place is truly paradise and we highly recommend it, if your planning on going to the Cooks, you have to stay at Temanava and Pacific Resort Aitutaki. The Pacific Resort groups are luxurious resorts and we believe they are the best that the Cook. Thank you Jane, Todd, Anna and the beauty therapists for making our stay so special and memorable..

Room Tip: Spend the extra and get a beachfront room, its worth it

Had a Balinese style massage at the Manava Spa. Very relaxing. We had a couple's massage and the therapists were very friendly and seemed quite experience.

The facilities were tranquil and very clean. Would recommend!

We plan on returning one day - soon hopefully. As other reviewers have said the complex is stunning, well maintained and quiet.
Jane and Todd go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need and are well informed on where to eat, and things to do.
Take you own nespresso pods if you are coffee drinkers, there is a start up kit in the room on arrival with coffee and tea etc. but we consumed these quite quickly and couldn't buy any more on the Island - Jane came our rescue with extras.
We stayed in a studio, with ocean views and a path down to the beach.
(there is no fitness centre, you can't un-click these once clicked!)

We are experienced and busy travellers who, every now and then, need a break. We were lucky to be steered towards Te Manava with its great facilities and service. We found the location good and enjoyed the walks to other attractions at Muri (not to mention the LBV bakery). The canoes out the back are a great way to explore and enjoy the lagoon (and if you must, take the complimentary snorkling gear with you and see even more) after being introduced to it by the boys on the special lagoon cruise that Jane will arrange. Jane can conjurer up any other worthwhile activity if you so desire including places to eat and the ecotour bike people who call daily.that, if you have any genuine interest in Cook Island culture, is a 'must do'..

Room Tip: I don't think you could do better than the beachfront room for 2. Has views, is nice and airy, w...
