My husband and I chose Te Manava for our honeymoon in July. As soon as we walked into our beachfront villa we were blown away. I have done alot of travelling and it is rare to find that your accomodation is better than the brochure. The view, the plunge pool, the secluded beach and the privacy - just brilliant. Elaine and her team could not have done more to make our honeymoon so incredibly special and beyond what we hoped for. From what we could see Te Manava was by far the best on the island. The link with Pacific resort was also fanatastic. We would recommend this venue to anyone! Especially for a honeymoon or special holiday. Salli and Peter

Room Tip: The beachfront villa - 5C is beautiful and private.

This was our second time at Te manava, but first in the ultimate beachfront 2 bed accomodation. What can I say but amazing. Views throughout accomodation to die for. My daughter was in the second bedroom, which was really another self contained stunning wing with its own large bathroom, TV etc. Te manava have really taken on board previous whinges from previous guests re soaps and complimentary tea and coffee on arrival and rectified it, good on you Te Manava. Also great having the minibar whcih has a lot of basics that you can use and replace, snacks, soft drinks, milk etc. Also new free shuttle service to the Pacific a great addition, although we never used as couldnt resist the lagoon view walk.Only small negatives we have were that the pool had a leak and needed the hose in 24/7 to keep level up. But no biggie, and Tai offered to come and check daily. Also some of the kayaks at the front of Te manava are old and need updating, as this is a really important part of being there, kayaking on the lagoon. When all the villas are full there isnt good choice. However we have fed this back in our feedback and hope to see a change as we will definately be back, hopefully next year. Elaine Tai and Anna as always were so friendly, nothing is a probelm. Keep up the good work guys.

Room Tip: Ultimate beachfront is amazing, they also have a 3 bed option we see now for larger families.

Wow, what a place! On our third trip to Raro we stepped up and decided to stay somewhere a little above average. And it was worth it. Forget the 'concept' and just think ultimate luxury with the friendly service you expect in the cook islands. This and 'Rumours' must surely be the best resorts/hotels on the island- surpassing anything we saw from Little Polynesia or The Crown, this is in another league. The rooms are amazing, the service is great, the location superb. Te Manava exceeded all our expectations. We can't wait to go back. Hopefully they open a Te Manava in Aitutaki.

My husband picked this place out for our honeymoon from January 15-22nd and it was the absolute best trip we have ever been on. Te Manava makes you feel like you are totally secluded on the most breathtaking coast line you have ever seen. (You will need to book one of the 3 beach front villas for this view and I recommend it hands down). From the moment you wake up and open the entire wall of windows all you can see is blue ocean and palm trees. The neighboring villas don't have a clue you are even there as privacy seems to be their motto. There are 2 loungers on your private patio, 2 chairs and table for having romantic dinners in the evening and a soaking pool for when you overheat and it is HOT there! We thanked ourselves many times over for getting the ocean view, not only for the beauty but we had a glorious breeze off the ocean each day that was the only saving grace to not get us melted by the sun. Once you head out the front door of the suite towards the main drive to go into town or hop on the bus it was instant heat wave, so I can imagine all the other rooms that have a pool but no ocean view are sweltering hot in the backyards. On their website it said it is an a la carte hotel where you have to pay extra for soap, hair stuff pretty much everything, changing bedding etc. We were a bit nervous about what we would need to go buy and what we would be without but upon arrival there is nothing missing at all, soap is provided, water was in the fridge, had our room cleaned free of charge too. Phew! We bought a bus pass and headed downtown to one of the three grocery stores on the island, after about 70 bucks we were fully stocked for breakfasts, lunches and the 3 dinners we were planning on doing ourselves. Be warned though that food and drink is VERY pricey on the island as they have to freight everything in. Pop was $5 for one 1L and orange juice (2L) was $8. Once we got over our sticker shock we just went for it and tried many fruits and things that were foreign to us. I recommend buying your booze (if you plan on drinking there when you are not at a restaurant) on your way in from duty free as the prices on booze are pretty crazy. Luckily we had a layover in LA on the way down and grabbed a bottle of gin and vodka super cheap to take along with us. This island is amazing and so beautiful, we did a few excursions and I recommend at least taking one to see the top of the mountains and have a local fish fry, they are very proud of their culture and love to share stories and welcome you to their island. Te Manava will book all the tours for you, it's easy. We took advantage of the couples massage one evening as well to relax ourselves even more, that was totally worth it, they start with a foot soak and foot massage and then another hour of massage on the beds where you can even hold hands with your spouse...bliss.
Before we booked we checked this site to see the reviews and I wanted to post this as well to let anyone know that may be considering this place how fabulous it really is. Worth every penny!!

Room Tip: Get the beach front or you will melt without that ocean breeze.

My husband and I stayed at Te Manava on our honeymoon in March. We spent 5 nights in a Beachfront Villa, and it was amazing - we certainly were not disappointed! The view from our villa was just gorgeous. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and private, which was just what we wanted. We had a relaxing couples massage at the day spa, which I would highly recommend. Elaine and Thomas were really helpful, and bent over backwards to assist us with booking for day trips, advice, etc - arranging an extra night's accomodation for us when our travel agent had forgotten that we crossed the International Date Line to get to the Cook Islands! Nothing was too much trouble. We loved it, and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra money for the Beachfront Villa - amazing!

Our travel agent talked us into taking the 3 bedroom garden villa for 11 nights on a stay 5 pay for 3 night deal, so for our 11 nights we only paid for 6, making the cost of the georgeous private villa much more affordable. We were in Raro for a wedding and so got to check out heaps of other friends accommodation, and they checked out ours, and Te Manava was just so far ahead that everyone wanted to hang out at our place!! Having 8 and 11 year old children with us meant that the air con right through the villa was a fantastic bonus for getting them to sleep at night, and the private massive pool off the lounge was perfect for them to run around and play their own noisy games while we drank our nespresso in the beautiful garden!! This was one of the best accommodation experiences we have ever had and I know that we will come again, as will most of the wedding guests who all thought they would book it next time they were in Raro! The huge villa, fantastic amenities, private beach access and kayaks, lovely lovely helpful Elaine and Thomas, and the wonderful masseuse in the Spa has certainly left us looking forward to coming back. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and can assure you it is worth every hard earned cent, as Rarotonga has some pretty average accommodation at similar and slightly cheaper prices!!

Room Tip: 3 bedroom garden villa is perfect for 3 couples, or a family of 4 - 6, and the swimming pool is much...
