The Hotel Pestera is situated at a pivotal place in the Bucegi mountain range. It is at the end/start of several hiking trails and also right next to the cable car station to Babele and Busteni. it is also near the amazing monastery and cave- not to be missed.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Great to have a comfortable bed and hot shower after a long day's hike.
The food is satsfactory - the breakfast amazing with a choice of fried eggs or omlettes, sausages, cakes cheeses and cereals.
There is an indoor heated pool open till 10pm.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful.
So if you are prepared to pay a little extra this is a much better option then the Vila or cabana in nearby Padina

My wife & I stayed here one night after hiking for the day in the Bucegi National Park so we could visit the Ialomicioara Cave (located only a few minutes walk from the hotel) first thing in the morning. For this purpose, you can't beat the location (there's no other choice unless you camp). That said, this was not a very comfortable stay. I've never been in such a smoky building (even in Romania). Smoke was actually coming into our room from the hall during the night. The hotel is rather worn & there was a fair amount of mold in our bathroom. We awoke to the sound of chainsaws as there is a logging operation adjacent to the hotel. Breakfast was supposed to start at 8am, but when we arrived to eat, there was a group already finishing and all the hot items (e.g., eggs) were already cold & not replentished. Not a very enjoyable stay.
