Yucca Park
Ranked #2 of 3 Hotels in Playa de Fanabe
Reviewed February 1, 2009

I have known Yucca park since it was new and all timeshare. The whole of the hotel has been sold off in 2008 to private owners and so it is very different now, there's been huge changes since the summer of 2008. The hotel is no longer run by the timeshare people and there are no timeshare on the complex, it's all private. The pool has been refurbished, it's landscaped and beautifully shaped and is absolutely spotlessly clean! The complex is lovely and quiet, although near to all the shops, restaurants etc...We stayed in a privately owned apartment which had been totally renovated, it was beautiful, new funishings, new bathroom, new floors, new kitchen, everything new! and quality too, it was great value for money. We did however see that some apartments clearly still need renovation so we would recommend anyone staying here to check the level of work which the new owners have done, ask for photos of everything. if you get the right apatment you will not find a better place to stay, als the price can be a bit of a giveaway, we met people who payed less than us and their apartment wasn't very nice, so just be careful. but we had a fantastic time, this is a fantastic place in a brilliant location and our apartment was beautiful, a fantastic holiday! things have improved here, so the old reviews are somewhat out of date now.

Most of the apartments are now privately owned, so there is no reception now. The apartment we stayed in was lovely, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The complex is within easy reach of all restaurants and the beach and is in a good location. I read the reviews before I went and most said that the complex was relaxing and quiet.

It was the opposite for me....I love to swim on holiday, but did not want to swim here as there were loads of noisey people shouting around the pool. There were towels left on the sunbeds all night and not one sunbed was left to relax on. The people next door did not appreciate that they had neighbours and had their music on so loud in the evenings. I think that we must have chosen the wrong week to go!!!! We had to go out of the complex every day to escape the noise.

I certainly will not be returning to this complex.

The only good thing about this complex is the location. When we arrived we were upgraded!! to a 2 bedroomed apartment.
The toilet seat was taped together and moved when sat on.The curtain pole was held up with a piece of string and the bedding was ripped. We were supposed to have maid service with towel change for 5 days. The towels were only changed once when we left them in a heap on the floor and the bedding was not change at all.The apartment was not clean we had to clean it ourselves when we arrived. Also the beds were hard and we had to buy mattress pads so we could sleep.
I would not recommend these apartments yucca park lives up to its name.

What a wonderfull stay we had. A small friendly apartment complex with loveley swimming pool and sun decks, pool a little too cold though. Plenty of sun beds and very peaceful. Quite central and in a quieter area but in walking distance of many cafes, bars, restaraunts and shops. Lovely pool bar-breakfast and sandwiches were very good. The welcome at the bar was excptional. Our Mr Fix-it on reception was absolutely wonderful, nothing was too much trouble for this guy.
Only down side was our rooms were only serviced three times in our stay and towel and linen changed once. This was to be serviced five times a week with linen change twice a week. This need improvement (feel sure that should we have complained more it would have been done. Would recommend and return.

We booked three apartments for a group of 11 (6 Adults/5 Kids) back in June 2007, as we knew we were staying for the New Year and were keen to get the accomodation booked.

The apartments were booked for 11 nights from the 28/12/2007, but on arrival, after seeing two couples trying to check in in front of being told that they had no rooms available and being put in taxis to Santa Cruz to "the only hotel available on the island", we feared the worst.

When it was our turn to check in, we were informed that they had apartments for us for the 1st night, but we did not have accomodation for the following 10 nights and we would have to contact our hotel provider (WSH Travel) in the morning.

At this point it was 1am and as we walked past the swimming pool, we noticed that all of the sunbeds had been "reserved" with towels already for the following morning!!!

On entering the apartments we encountered furniture from the eighties, with bedding from a similar era with cigarette burns and holes (only provided on the main beds, no bedding for kids beds) and the balcony doors would not lock on 2 of the apartments.

The rooms were very dirty, with mucky kitchen surfaces, a dirty hole where a fridge had been and cracked floor tiles that looked like they hadn't been mopped for weeks.

Needless to say we didn't unpack and were glad when our hotel company provided us with alternative accomodation the following day at Villa Tagoro Aparthotel.

After visiting tenerife on about 12 seperate occasions, I would rate this hotel as the worst we have encountered.

I CAN DO BASIC, BUT I CAN'T DO FILTHY!!!

This place is fantastic. Its in an ideal location where you can access shops, restaurants and bars...but its not so close that you cant sleep or are disturbed by the noise! It is a peaceful and quiet resort, ideal for couples or groups of adults. The pool area is clean and idyllic, sometimes a rush for sunbeds but no charge for them.
The reception is helpful and friendly. They offer a talk on excursions and there is a airpot transfer for 20 euro for upto 4 people.
The pool bar serves cheap, good quality food and the guy who runs it is always welcoming.
Only negative is that the rooms arent air conditioned so be prepared to have to pay an extra 20 euro for a fan
