The worst thing about this hotel is its location - it is at least a 15 minutes walk from the town centre (their website says 10 minutes but that must be for a fast walker!). However, if you go into the Tourist Information Centre next to the railway station, which is where buses also arrive, they will call the hotel for a free pick-up - I only had to wait a few minutes (presumably you can call them yourself once you know at what time your train or bus will be arriving).
The receptionist who checked me in was friendly enough, They expect payment in cash in advance and no credit cards accepted.
The room was spacious, especially by Japanese standards, and the attached bathroom served its purpose with the usual array of toiletries found in Japanese hotels. There was a fridge, a kettle and even a kitchen sink! There was also a microwave on the landing opposite the elevator but I did not try its effectiveness. My room had a balcony but it only overlooked the street and an apartment block. The street was quiet at night. The hotel will give you a map in English, presumably produced by themselves, showing the location of the hotel in relation to other places - a 7-11 to the right and a Family Mart to the left, both with the usual array of convenience-store pre-cooked food which they will heat up in the microwave. Further along from the 7-11 is the Bell Shopping Centre which has a supermarket and also a Dunkin Donuts and a Baskin-Robbins if you really must!
Be aware that in November in Kawaguchiko it becomes dark at about 4.30pm and so if you arrive in the afternoon you won't really be able to do anything after checking into your room. Also, trying to orientate myself in the dark, with dim street lighting was a little confusing as it was a bit difficult to actually read the map they gave in the dark.
They provide a free shuttle bus to the station three times in the morning but the first one was not until 8.45am and as this was too late for me I took a taxi for 910 Yen on the meter. I did see some brave souls walking with their luggage to the station. If you need to leave your bags for the day I suggest that you do so at the station rather than leave them at the hotel and have to go back for them later and then either walk or take a taxi back to the station.
