We stayed in this hotel in December 2012 for one night between Christmas and New Years. We were only in the area to go to Fujikyu Highlands. It is not a romantic hotel, but had a big room with all amenities we needed (but it did not have a public bath).

Pros:
- It was good for visiting Fujikyu because there was a shuttle (which we had to reserve the night before) that took us to Fujikyu Highlands at 8:45 am (and it only takes 5 minutes by car to get to there).
- The room was large compared to hotels in Japanese cities (but smaller than American hotel rooms, of course).
- There was LOTS of storage space (3 closets) and a kitchenette area with a mini-fridge.
- Toiletries were provided.
- The cleanliness of the hotel was about a 8 (on a 1 to 10 scale). The only reason I can't rate it higher is because there were some tiny, light mold patches on the shower walls (that could be rubbed clean) and there was some mold on grout between the tub and the floor, but you really had to look hard to find the mold. My husband didn't even notice these things.
- Low price compared to other hotels in the area.
- Table in the the room, 2 chairs, and a vanity.
- Fantastic water pressure and an abundance of hot water.
- Room was a comfortable temperature and the heat was easy to control

Cons:
- The shuttle only goes at certain times in the morning and evening. It is a half mile walk to Kawaguchiko Station if you arrive/depart when the shuttle is not running (as we did).
- You must call the hotel if you plan to arrive later than 11:00 pm or you could lose your room.
- There is no public bath.
- The bed was very hard. The pillows are bean on one side and western-style on the other side (which is typical of hotels in Japan). They weren't very comfortable.

If you want to see/climb Mt. Fuji and/or want to visit Fujikyu Highlands, but not pay a lot of money, I would recommend this place. I would stay at this hotel again, but I would also be open to other options in the area.

It is a small hike. The shuttle is only in the afternoon shuttle about 15.00-19.00 hours and
In the morning 3x 8.30+ to 10, and also to fuji q around 8.40 but after Fuji Q opens which would make you already in a 2-3 hour line. They have afternoon after 1600 discount coupons at the checkin counter, but you can probably only get on 1 ride at that time.

Microwave at elevator, Spacious rooms (largest on our trip), Back balcony we can see part of Mt. Fuji
Kitchen, but No kitchen equipment
Need modem from front desk for internet.

Good soaps Shiseido
Quiet area no bus seen, a long walk to near by restaurants. Nothing in the nearby mall except a supermarket. Property is next to drug store Matsumoto for cheap water and juices in 1.5-2L bottles. Buying from vending machines are actually much more expensive in Japan, no matter what others say.

Cash only, best rate was from hotel website. Good choice for the price in the area.

On the way back from the train station at night there might not be that many options for dinner but some places are open till 2300. You can always stop by 7-11.

Hard to take pictures of Mt. Fuji from the main road as there are so many electrical wires blocking the view.

Dokomo mobile service and wifi works in the area. Consider getting a Mifi, portable wifi.

Stayed here for one night with friends prior to going to Fuji-Q land. Stunning views of Mt Fuji, free wi-fi in lobby area and a good selection of shops and restaurants near by.
Rooms are larger than most Japanese hotels with a mini kitchen area. Toiletries and hair dryer provided.
Hotel organised a taxi for 1000 yen to Fuji-q land and provided a reduced entry voucher. Overall, very pleasant stay.

Great place to stay surrounded by stunning views of mount fuji from bedroom windows! Rooms were "big" compared to japanese standards! as was bathroom which was fully equipped with japaneses style toilets! Staff was amazing at this place, although very little english was spoken they went out of their way to help us. Restaurant food was delicious both for dinner and breakfast, only problem was the menu was only written in japanese, but the chef came out of the kitchen to personally translate the whole menu for us! You would never get that in europe!!! we were treated like kings and it made our trip to mount fuji perfect!

We arrived in Kawaguchiko after a 3 hour bumper to bumper bus trip from Tokyo. We headed straight to the information centre for a map expecting to have to walk to the hotel. A quick phone call and the shuttle bus was there in 5 minutes to collect us. The lady at the reception spoke good English and we paid by cash in advance, no credit card facilities. The room was of a good size by Japanese standards and we had a balcony and with a slight crane of the neck there was a clouded Fuji-san. Comfortables beds, quiet rooms, good air-conditioning and a slightly squeezy en-suite makes this hotel good value for money. It's about a 20 minute walk through the town to the lake for most of the local attractions and a superb view of a now clear Fuji. There's a good restaurant up the road towards Fuji- weird that Fuji is at the end of your street! A shopping plaza almost directly opposite the restaurant and a large liquor shop over the road and back a bit with lots of sake, Japanese wine, spirits and overseas wines. Overall an enjoyable stay with one of the world's best views.
