It got very crowded after we came in. There was one server and one helper, plus the people from the kitchen who brought dishes. Even so the service was good enough. The room was decorated simply but nicely. We had three dishes and lots of leftovers for another meal. We had one Tom Yum soup with chicken and vegetables ($11.95) that was spicy and very tasty. It was described as: “Thai style hot and sour soup with mushrooms, baby corn, onion, carrot, cabbage, tomato, galangal, lemongrass and kafir lime leaves.” We liked it but could not taste the lemongrass or galangal. Next came the Pumpkin Curry with tofu ($13.95) that was really delicious. It was described as: “Red curry with coconut milk, green beans, pumpkin, zucchini, carrots, bell pepper, peas, bamboo shoots and basil.” Our third dish was a special for the evening with mixed seafood ($20.95) that came with rice. It too was very good. We spent $47.62 plus tip.

Anchor Bay Thai Kitchen was a cute little restaurant in a town that was pretty quiet on a Tuesday night. We tried the spring rolls and two dishes. All the food was very fresh and pretty flavorful. We drove out of the way to try this place, and while the food was good, I don't think we were wowed by it. But we've traveled through Thailand before, so we know we're harsh critics. But definitely a nice place if you are looking for some Thai food in a clean and nicely decorated restaurant. They were baby friendly which I appreciated - especially since a number of restaurants on the Mendocino coast specified no kids.

The staff and owners are ULTRA FRIENDLY! Their Thai cuisine is a very welcome surprise to our COAST! You can order your selection MILD, Medium or HOT! I have very much enjoyed their Pineapple, Shrimp, Rice, ect. dish and the Chicken Fried Rice...with hot tea! When you special order you are actually heard at this place. I recommend any visitor on the coast to give this restaurant a TRY it's delicious and you'll enjoy the atmosphere!

Wow this place was so good I'm still thinking about it 3 days later.
Delicious authentic tastes and many vegetarian options.
Rice paper wrapped spring rolls. light and refreshing spicy lime infused bean thread noodles with prawns and chicken
My meat eating friend loved the Yum Woon Sen.
The Panang Curry was mouth watering and went well with the sticky rice
We also slurped up some Rice noodles with jalapeno and basil. Rad Ke-Mow.
They have a little bowl of hot sauce with real thai and jalapeno peppers sliced up in liquid, just like I remember in Thailand, but be careful, very hot!
So odd to find this pocket of ethnic goodness out in the coastal wilderness.

Anchor Bay Thai, a few scenic miles north of Gualala and The Sea Ranch, serves excellent Thai cuisine in an informal atmosphere. The Thai food is the equivalent of the few good Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. The wine and beer lists are limited but good. The service is both friendly and efficient.

The spring rolls, the various curries, and even the fried rice show off this well known chef's skills.
