Supremely beautiful property on the Fort Aguada. I had booked an apartment but was upgraded to a cottage. Amazing location, beautiful beautiful cottages, restaurant and bar need no platitudes, considering they're from the Taj, synonymous with the highest quality. We were shown around the property by the most courteous hostess. When we returned to our cottage after a day out touring, we were surprised with a romantically decorated room, a lovely gateaux and a sensuous bath arrangement in the couple tub, complete with rose petals and aromatic oils. We had to tear ourselves away from this hotel when our stay was up.

My extended family returned to this hotel in 2009 and had booked a villa. The Taj catered to every need of each family member, from children to senior citizens. I'm a fan for life.

The property has every amenity that one can think of. Some reviewer said the reception was 10 minutes away from the cottage. Yes, but they arrange for vehicles, some battery-powered ones too, to pickup you up and drop you to and from the reception or main gate.

Let's not get into irritating details and calculations like tariff. Luxury experiences like this cannot be priced.

We booked into the hotel for a nice 2 night stay over a weekend recently. Though the staff is courteous and helpful, I think age is catching up with the property and its in serious need of a facelift.

Upon checkin, the key card for our room had to be replaced twice (and the reception is 10 minutes walking distance down a hill from the room!).

We stayed in one of thier fancy cottage rooms, which looked as if it would have been a fantastic room - about 5 years ago! Its got a roomy bathroom with a bathtub, a lovely sitout from where you can see the sea, wooden flooring and the likes. But it just looks a little old and worn out.

The vegetarian food (choice and taste) was though the biggest let down of our stay. After eating 2 meals (in-room dining as well as buffet), we gave up and headed for the beach-side shacks at baga for the remaining meals!

The staff though does live up to the Taj standards and its only because of them that we didn't stomp out of the hotel post the first night.

I stayed in Fort Aguada beach resort for 4 days on the 2nd week of Feb, 2010, along with my wife. It was one of our best hotel stay. The hotel offered us complementary pick up & drop from airport. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Staffs are very curtious. The view of the sea from the hotel is breathtaking. Specially the poolside is very beautiful. We stayed in one of their hilltop cottages which are very calm and quiet even in the day time. Rooms are spacious and interior is very soothing. View of the garden from the balcony is nice. On the first day of our stay they surprised us with a complementary chocolate cake. Breakfast was delicious. Poolside restaurants serve different cuisines & all of them are good. One can also enjoy the various entertainment programmes like folk music in the evening. Not to forget the gym & the spa which are equally good. The only drawback is that it does not have a private beach & the adjacent beach is very dirty. All in all a relaxing & memorable stay in Goa. We will definitely stay in Fort Aguada resort again. Looking forward to experience the hospitality of Taj group of hotels again.

The rooms are brilliant, and so is the overall service.

I especially liked the Italian restaurant and the pool side bar.

We just returned from a 6 day stay at this wonderful resort in Goa.

We arrived early on a 7AM flight and found the hotel transport waiting for us outside the airport. The hotel is a 60 minute trip away from the airport, but the complimentary stuttle bus made the journey easy in air conditioned comfort. We were worried whether we would get a room that early in the mrning, but the wonderful reception staff made us very welcome and found us a room straight away with a cooling watermelon juice thrown in on arrival. We had initially booked a cottage at Taj Holiday Village but changed plans to move to Fort Aguada as the pool at the Village was closed during our stay.

We stayed in a hillside cottage with a wonderful view overlooking the sea across a very green garden. The room was spacious and very well fitted and decorated with the ususal amenities, ie tea/coffee making, mini bar, LCD TV and a DVD and a complimentary fruit tray and newspaper every morning. the bathroom was also spacious with a bathtub and seperate shower cubicle.

The resort is quite big and with some of the cottage and villas situated higher on the hillside, the trek up in the noon sun could be quite strenous, but the hotel has a fleet of buggies and cars which are always available to take you up to your room. Also the Taj Holiday Village is right next to Fort Aguada and all residents can use facilities of both properties and here the free car service to shuttle between either property comes in very handy. We ofter had breakfast at one place lunch at the other and so on..

The food...breakfast was very good with a wide spread of continental and Indian stuff. good selection of croisants, rolls, danishes, doughnuts and cakes, good selection of breads and fresh fruits and chef on hand to make eggs as you like it. I asked for a Eggs Benedict and the chef made it perfectly. Loads of Indian foods as well. We stayed on full board, so we had all lunches and dinners there from the buffet. Good selection, but obviously was designed for the western palate with less spices. The buffet did tend to get a bit repetitive after a couple of days, but the chefs were always happy to ask if we wanted something else and make it for us seperately. But maybe the next time we would choose the bed and breakfast option and opt to try the food at the inumerable local joints out of the resort.

Swimming pool - great, with a view overlooking the sea. Great little semi private beach which is quite nice and never too crowded, and is the place from where you can get a lot of watersports. Be prepared to haggle though for para-sailing and jet sking and start at half the asking price!

Location - great. this is in North Goa on the stretch of shoreline with lovely beaches like calangute, baga and anjuna just next to one another. Panjim the capitol city is a 20 min taxi ride away. Bit of advice, booking taxis at the hotel travel desk is an expensive option; book privately from outside at half price.

The Taj staff were simply wonderful and no request was any trouble for them.

Overall, great break and cant wait to come back again. Thank you Taj for a great holiday!
