this hotel is in great location ,set in lovely gardens ,its on the quiet end of the beach and you can walk miles. Only short stoll into Candolim and little taxi ride away to bigger resorts and nightlife if mood takes you.
We stayed in Cottage garden room which was beautiful and luxurious ,spacious kept very clean by wonderful staff. All the staff through out the hotel were friendly and extremely helpful. We had excellent holiday and will return to this hotel again.
Top tip food and drinks in hotel very good little pricey in comparison to outside hotel however expect that in this class of accomadation-however there is a fab little beach shack (exit hotel by pool onto beach)Tonys shack .food is great especially prawn goan curry extremely reasonable prices its worth a visit.

We just returned after spending 4 nights at the Taj, Fort Aguada in Goa. The stay was part of a package which included all meals.

The highlight of the stay was the incredible service we received at the hotel. The staff is simply amazing and they made our stay in the hotel memorable.

We had booked the superior garden view room but at check in we were told that we have been upgraded to the suite. As we were travelling with another family who had already checked into a garden view room , we tried to get something on their floor. The receptionist insisted we had a much nicer room so we decided to keep it. The first pleasant surprise was once we entered the room. It had a lovely terrace which faced the garden and the sea and a nice living room attached. Both the bedroom and living room looked out to the sea and as the breeze on the terrace hit our faces we realized we were in for a good time.

Our flight was a little late, so we missed lunch on the first day. The staff easily adjusted that by including another lunch on the last day of our stay. We were the only guests for the hotel on our flight so instead of the customary airport transfer bus, there was a taxi waiting to take us to the hotel. While we were waiting for the taxi to park and load our luggage (at the airport) , the staff who had come to receive us greeted us with two bottles of chilled water.

For all meals we had an option of taking the buffet either at Fort Aguada or the adjoining property - Taj Holiday Village. We could also order at any one of the restaurants in either of the two resorts from a fixed menu as part of the package. For breakfast and lunches we chose Latitude at the Fort Aguada. We had dinner once at Latitude, second night in Il Camino (the italian restaurant) and third night at Caravela (at the holiday village).

The breakfast spread was really nice and the service was par excellence. We actually spent more than an hour everyday savouring breakfast and enjoying the view. Lunch and dinner buffet at the Latitude was also quite good, being vegetarians we never feel limited for choice. The italian restaurant was also good, pizza was scumptious , pasta could have been better though.

The only bad experience was the dinner buffet at Caravela (Taj Holiday Village), where service was shoddy and food was below average. There was a long queue to get hot rotis / naan from the tandoor. We had to ask thrice for drinking water and the way the buffet was laid out was unimpressive.

We got to use the pool at Fort Aguada once and for the rest of the stay at the Taj Holiday Village. The view from the Aguada pool is amazing, but overall its small. Hoilday village pool is much better with a nice baby pool (the couple travelling with us had a three year old). Not all of us were swimmers but still we enjoyed every bit of the time spent at the pool.

In addition to the fruit basket we were also pampered with some dessert every evening (aroud 7ish) , which we found was a perk for staying in the suite. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and would again commend the superb staff who made it possible.

Given our previous experiences with other Taj properties, we went in expecting a lot and came out with those expectations fulfilled.

We stayed as a family of four (with two teen kids). We asked for and got two interconnected rooms.

Rooms: Roomy and elegant. Great houskeeping. I noticed the cleaner spending up to 45 minutes per room - he was actually wiping down each piece of furniture! He kept up stocked with (free) mineral water.

Activities: Squash and table-tennis for free, billiards and tennis were not free. In addition, (free) yoga lessons, craft, etc.

Pool: Amazing view of the ocean from the warm pool

Food: Great food, often with live music at dinner. We stuck to the buffet which we got as part of a package. Contrary to previous reports, they had a lot of Goan offerings. They had a separate menu where you could order items for no extra charge. The staff could have been more attentive (I had to always raise my hands and ask for my water or coffee cups to get refilled).

Transport: Free and amazingly convenient shuttle service to the Taj Holiday Village, sports complex, and for rock climbing. We also conveniently rented a car through the hotel to see Old Goa - we would have done better if we went out and negotiated the fare ourselves but it was too convenient not to!

We stayed there for four nights and got out of the Taj complex only once, which goes to show how much fun we had there.

The private beach is also good, although a little small.
The rooms are comfortable, even the cottages are grate.

On the day of our visit we were greeted very warmly by the hotel staff. They were kind enough to provide a temporary accommodation since our rooms for early check in were not ready. Later they offered a upgrade for a luxury villa which was a great thing.
The Infinity pool was a great place to have fun with kids and the life guards at the pool are really attentive and would take real good care that the kids are safe in water. The view of sea from the Pool is unforgettable.
The adjoining beach has a lot of water sport activities and you need to do a good bargain for the water sports, if you are walking down to the beach from the TAJ. There is Tony's shack on the beach and they serve hot and good quality food. It is a great experiance to eat on the beach with good chilled beers and enjoy the lovely sea breez.
The water sport were great fun ( Jet ski, speed boat, banana ride, and Parasailing) are great fun to do and must do.
Our luxury villa was on top of a mountain and there were cars at any hour avaliable on just a phone call, so no hassel of walking up and down the hill. The view from the villa was breathtaking and it also had a small private garden to enjoy your sunset in the evenings.
The villa had a commen living and dinning room where all our friends could get together and had a great time of our lives. Thanks to TAJ for the upgrade.
There is a private beach of TAJ and it is great fun to spend time with your kids without any hassels of the locals bothering you. But we had more fun on the commen beach which was more lively. We also visited Holiday village at the Pool's swim up bar and I would any day prefer Taj Fort Aguada to Taj Holiday village which was more lively and refreshing place........You can anyway enjoy the facility of the both the hotels if you stayed at any one of them. We would definitely visit this hotel again.

I stayed at the Fort Aguada Beach Resort between May 10 - 15, 2009 with my family. The location of the hotel is excellent though the approach to the beach was not that great. The rooms were also good. We had taken a package deal where all meals were included. That was the biggest mistake that we made. The breakfast and the lunch and dinner buffets were very ordinary. There was no sign of any Goan (local) food or any sea food. The other irritation was that lunch and dinner buffets were open only up to a particular time and when we went just before the buffets closed down, the hotel staff behaved in the most obnoxous manner. On the contrary, the food and the staff of the adjoining Taj property (Taj Holiday Village) is much better than Fort Aguada.
