We stayed in the main building.
I've returned after over 10 years and was sorry to see that things haven't changed much
The rooms would pass for just a 3 star hotel
Rats roam around the pool side at night
The property needs a serious face lift and at these prices it's a rip off
But the service / staff is absolutely superb
They are so helpful, courteous and make you feel at home
That's what makes all the difference and the only reason I'd return

Goa in monsoon is beautiful. The theme of your vacation changes from sunbathing and roaming around to snugly get into a place to relax and enjoy the surroundings with no care in the world. Taj is one place which allows you to achieve this.

1. Location: Like most Taj properties Fort Aguada offers stunning views. Whether you are at the pool, bar or the lobby you would have the views are quite fantastic.
Walk up-to the fort extention and view the raging waves up close. This is also a fishing spot if you fancy that.

2. Service: Taj takes care of one thing really well. the courtesy of the staff and the service level is impeccable. You may have a beautiful property but if the staff does not make you feel like welcome that does not do much for your stay. Taj is one place where you are almost always treated very very well and that adds to our experience. It more than makes up for the small gaps that may exist

3. Rooms and Facilities

a. Rooms : I can speak for the garden view room. the room was neat and comfortable. The bathrooms were surprisingly small though.

b. Pool: Mid size pool with a really good view of the sea and the palm trees. There is a fence that may hinder the view a little bit but it only a small ( read very small) nuisance.

c. Lobby: Has a fantastic view of the sea. A place you would be introduced the first thing you enter the hotel and sets you smiling as you know what is in store is going to be nice!!!

d. Restaurant: There are 3 restaurants. One especially for sea food and open only for dinner. One italian ( serves signature buffet dinner on Saturdays) and the all day diner Lattitude. the restaurants offer good setting and view of the property as you enjoy your meal

e. Bar lounge: fantastic view from the bar of the endless sea. Do not miss sitting there with a drink.

Add on benefit:
Any guest of Aguada can enjoy the facilities of Holiday village ( also a Taj property) taxis ( provided by taj) are available at all times to shuttle you to and fro from these properties. This is really really good reason to stay in any one of these hotels. What you get for your bucks just doubles up with this facility.

**Taj offers airport transfer

Room Tip: During Monsoon : Get a room with the partial or full sea view. In case you are within the confines o...

Mesmerised and truly in love with the place even days after I am back!

You get sea-views from various hotels, but getting sea view and waves meeting the shore, and perched at a height, and view of a fort in ruins is rare (none I have seen so far!)

A very warm welcome by TAJ and really good service by the team. We stayed in Room 203, which I believe has the best view in itself. Do request the same if you're going there.

The SFX Lounge again has a great sea-view, couple couches to laze on for hours with your drink and book. The infinity pool is the centre of all action like all hotels. You cant miss sea-view from any part of the hotel here.

Breakfast spread is good, but seems similar if you're staying more than 3 nights. Wished they had bicycles and a bookcase here. But overall a must-stay place.

Room Tip: Go for Room No. 203

Four Taj properties in three months and this hotel was, unfortunately, a disappointing experience.

The positives, large property with lots of greens, but the Vivanta Village next door also has that (and they have better rooms). Hotel is part of the old fort which gives it history. Lastly, as the property is on a slope/hill, the views of the Arabian sea are very pretty.

The negatives, old old old rooms, maybe we were just unlucky and got 'down-graded' to an old room but the room we stayed in was definitely not worth the dollars paid. Cleanliness was also not great; bathroom looked dated and a bit grubby. The hotel is in a remote location and not accessible to anything, the Vivanta Village next door also has the large lawns but the rooms are much closer to the entrance and there are restaurants and shops around, for this hotel the closes shop is about 20 min away (the hotel provides a free car drop off service but it only took you to the Vivanta Village next door). So unless you're thinking of just staying on the property for few days (but remember the comment about on the quality of rooms), it's worth looking at other options closer to civilisation. And lastly, the service. Maybe it's us being unlucky, or just the fact that we were on the property during a long weekend when it was busy but the indifferent attitude of the reception staff was quite rude. Any room service/requests took forever, again, perhaps they were busy, but it was disappointing nevertheless.

If you're travelling with a baby/infant, good luck with the cot - ours was so old and filthy we couldn't use it at all for the three days.

Breakfast was Ok, but again, with service staff who found it hard to smile.

Given the choice of other hotels around, especially the Vivanta Village next door, I don't think I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Most rooms are on a hill and involve a bit of a hike/lots of stairs, so it's difficult with youn...

My husband, two-year old daughter and I were recently here for 5 night. Monsoon got us an all inclusive package and every bit was value for money. Apart from the amazing view that we had with a balcony, the in-room dining service catered specially to my child who had an upset stomach. Completely customised portions for her and they did not even charge for it! The pool was well maintained. The fact that we could use the Holiday Village restaurants was a good add-on. House keeping was always available? The touch of Taj was unmistakable in everything!

Room Tip: Premium indulgence rooms on the top floor are amazing!

It's a big property adjacent to the sea. There are individual cottages, villas in place spread across the expanse of the property. From the restaurant you get a beautiful sea view & the breakfast buffet spread is amazing. The service staff is also helpful.

All in all a good property to stay in Goa.

Ambience, service, facilities, everything is superb! I felt the wifi should be free. Although it is super fast, a bit expensive. Beach view from the balcony in the early morning is fabulous!! Got a variety of cuisines. Me and my wife both enjoyed Thai and multi cuisine kitchen. Surprise candle light dinner arranged by the hotel indeed was a pleasant surprise.
