Its a nice old fort on the outskirts of Panjim.Lot of greenery all around. The view of sea from the fort is excellent and mesmerizing. The lighthouse is not working any more and entry to it is prohibited. Good place to be visited with family and for peace.

This place has featured in a bollywood movie. It's a small section of a fort which is open for public viewing. Must visit if you are in north goa but definitely not a must see in goa

From Panjam, Capital of Goa, India, if you go about 20 miles north towards the Sinquerim Beach, you will find Fort Aguada and its light house. This is a Portuguese fort on the shore of Mandovi river overlooking the Arabian Sea.

The fort and the light house were constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas. The vessels coming from Europe were stopping here for fresh water supply. In later days Fort Aguada was used as a prison.

Adjacent to the fort, there is a five-star-rated hotel: Vivanta by Taj having number of villas and cottages, Terrace Suites, restaurants and nearby beaches. In addition to water sports, there are recreational facilities for tennis, squash and mountaineering.

If you happen to spend nice holidays in Taj group Hotels, then you can spend your quite evening at the fort. Otherwise to go there specially for the fort is strict No No...
