“We loved it - hope to come back!”

We have just returned from a week at Santa Chiara and loved every minute of it. We stayed in Pietramelina, the one bed appartment which was ideal for myself, my husband and 1 year old daughter. It was well equipped with 'baby essentials' including toys and games which made packing lighter and with the many finishing touches provided by Paul and Anita it gave it a home from home feel and we had a very enjoyable stay as a result.
We would thoroughly recommend staying at Santa Chiara to anyone, especially those with young children. It is a beautiful rustic farm house set in a poppy filled valley with gorgeous grounds and an attractive safe pool area. The location is great to access many of the local sites such as Gubbio, Assisi and Lake Tresimino - most of which are about 30 mins drive. Sienna is about an 1hr 30 mins away.
Paul and Anita are a lovely welcoming couple, they gave us many hints and tips on where to go and where to eat - Anita even babysat for us one evening
which we very much appreciated! They also have their own olive groves and make their own olive oil which came back home with us!
All in all a fantastic holiday we will be back!

Santa Chiara is a wonderful place to stay, my wife and i love this area of Italy we came here on our honey moon and vowed we would be back and i didn't disappoint.
Our apartment was the one pictured on the middle floor when we arrived late in the day we found a delicious meal we ordered supplied by Anita using some of the fruit and veg off of there own land we cant recommend this highly enough its a bargain at 15 euros pp this includes dinner desert and wine with fresh bread.
The apartment was very clean and peaceful we are so going to miss the shower in the bathroom where my father love the an-sweet in the master.
I have to say i was a little unsure of staying at Santa Chiara as im used to staying in private villas but i needn't of worried its very peaceful all the apartments where booked and we still mainly had the pool to ourselves.
Paul , Anita and there two lovely children Isabella and Alessandro have done a fantastic job here and are a very friendly and happy and helpful family you really couldn't ask any more from a holiday in Italy.
And on a side note a great restaurant to visit when your hear about 10mins drive away is Agriturismo Ristorante Calagrana which does fantastic meals and cookery courses you will need to book a course before you go.

We have just returned from a delightful stay at Santa Chiara in Umbria. Paul and Anita's welcome and work has created a home-from-home feel. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and had all the mod-cons you'd want. Their help and recommendations for the local area provided us with a great list of places to see and places to eat. Handy for Perugia, Assisi and a comfortable distance from Siena (with a 1 yo in the car) it's an ideal location to explore the beautiful Italian countryside.

Room Tip: We stayed in Rancale, the 2 bed with the patio.

Our stay in this lovely restored farmhouse has been a delight in every way. We have had unbelievable weather 27+which makes the fantastic pool a god send. Our apartment is beautifully laid out and has every thing we could wish for and more. Local wines to try and even olive oil from the garden trees. Paul and Anita have look after us like family and have been so helpful.
I can easily say we will be coming back here again.
Such a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy a break away in Italy

Paul , Anita and their children are a welcoming family. The apartment we stayed in was the Pantano apartment and the views from the terrace were lovely, the quiet area and birdsong all helped make the stay relaxing. The apartment was equipped well, Paul and Anita had left afew things which were really appreciated and a help until a shop was done. Santa Chiara was thoroughly enjoyed by my 5 year old ,but i would say that they cant be left without supervision, because even though the pool is fenced ,it is easy to access. My two teenagers were stuck for things to do as the pool was abit too cold at the time, but the local area offers plenty of things once out and about. Santa Chiara offers the perfect base point to tour Umbria, its perfectely situated for main roads ect but you cant see or hear any of them! Umbria for me is one of the best provinces of Italy, it was stunning, Gubbio and Assisi even pleased my teenagers and my teenage daughter enjoyed the shopping in Perugia.

Room Tip: Rancale for smaller kids, Pantano for older ones,

We stayed in Rancale and on arriving we were very pleasantly surprised as the apartment looked even better than it did on the website. The owners Paul and Anita can't do enough for you and really make you feel at ease, welcome and even like a friend for the whole stay.

There is so much to do in this little gem of an area from lazing by the pool or exploring the sights of Umbria. Perugia, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno, Gubbio (sadly we went there on our last day and didn't get to see much of it but we will be back for a proper explore).

Our 21month old son had the best time ever and seemed to have blossomed in the week we were there. The apartment was extremely child friendly, with all the accessories provided from travel cot (with a mattress, quilt and even a friendly smile from a teddy placed in the cot).

Anita's cooking is a revelation as well as being delious there was enough to feed an army.

Paul and Anita's children are friendly and outgoing and are great with the guests and their children alike.

It really is a super place and a week is just not long enough.

Santa Chiara offers the best of both worlds - a peaceful and indyllic location in a beautiful, secluded valley and yet perfectly located for sightseeing in Northern Umbria & Southern Tuscany. Our apartment, Pietramelina was beatifully furnished, well equipped and extremely comfortable. Paul and Anita were perfect hosts and couldn't have been more helpful with advice and information about the locality and places to visit. The pool was the perfect place to relax when we needed a break from the frescoes. The choice of restaurants in nearby towns and villages caters for all tasets and wallets and the local markets are excellent. We had a lovely holiday and look forward to returning.
