This hotel is on the main road from Hohoe to Wli. It’s not very well marked, but it’s one of the few along the road. Our group of 12 had originally checked into a little hotel in Wli, but their water pump was broken and the rooms were horrendous, so we left and tried to find new accommodation without any reservations or any inclination as to where to go. Our group was forced to split up and by the time 7 of us hauled into Rovers Return at 2am, we were extremely grateful for the owner’s hospitality. There are only 3 rooms in the hotel, so the 4 girls in our group were forced to room together. The woman who owns the hotel brought an extra mattress in so we slept 3 in a king bed and one on the floor. There was a lovely sitting area. The bathroom was small, but clean. Our toilet didn’t work and there was no door on the bathroom, but there was a shared bathroom directly across the hall which worked very well. There was no air conditioning, but the fan sufficed.
Considering we arrived in the wee hours of the morning, we were accommodated for wonderfully. We were treated graciously by the owner and extremely grateful for her care. She offered us breakfast in the morning, but we had to pass to get back on the road.
I would highly recommend this hotel. We paid 40 GH cedis for the night. For the quality of customer service alone, I think Rovers Return is worth the rate.
