“Great place, but you need to know the language”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

I was there with my son -21 month old and parents who are in their 50s.Find no foreigngers at all, and we were told this year have much less tourists than before, that is actually good for us, no too busy
Lots of my friends have been there and told me not interesting at all, my believe is because they join the group tour thats why.I decide to go there on my own,to enjoy the nature
We booked a room at Linhai Villa, they have wooden house which is quite and worth the money(380rmb for standard room) second night we decide to take the triple room, which is big and nice too, 570rmb) all including breakfast. We were told because this year less tourists thats why the price is lower.
Food was expensive, but i can understand, everything have to ship to there it is not easy. and they only open in summer for few month. We eat at Transfer center, they have noodle which is 38rmb, and we had zhuafan for two days which is 50rmb P/P.
guanyuting extra ticket but definitly worth it.120rmb P/p, I can't believe i hold my son all the way up to the top, and i believe you can done it with no problem
Walk from Moon to dragon river is nice and quite.
Fresh air and beautiful view.Highly recommend to go there on your own, not group tour .
Stay one night is enough, the tuwa homestay not so good, so recommend to find a Chinese to call hotel directly and tell them you are travel agency, so they will give you a good price:)

“Stunning scenery...but”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

Absolutely stunning scenery with magnificent views on the drive to the park and within the park. Unfortunately the prevailing attitude of the locals in Aletai and the employees inside the park was extremely disappointing. Food prices outside of the park are a sham and the attitude of the park employees was very rude and indifferent. The only saving grace was the hotel we stayed at inside the park (sorry I don't have the English name, but it was the newest and nicest available) had an exceptional staff with reasonable food quality and prices. It really is a very beautiful place and the different landscapes you encounter on the drive from Urumqi are incredible. It is just a shame that the people (locals and Han) do not have a better approach to their version of the tourist service industry.

“Awesome scenery!”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

The Kanas Geopark deserves a good whole day of exploration, as there are numerous scenic spots. The three areas ( Crouching Dragon Bay, Moon Bay and Immortal Bay) along the Kanas River should be hiked to enjoy the many vistas they offer. Give the Kanas Lake Boat Cruise a miss, as it offers nothing unique for the 1 hour RMB60 ticket. Use the time instead to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Valley from the Guan Yu Pavilion. It requires a climb of about 1000 steps, but they are really easy with many stops enroute to enjoy the changing views. Try to visit the Tuwa Village too if you can squeeze in the time.

“On the road to Kanasi”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

We rented a vehicle with a driver from Urumqi. We left around 3 pm. The plan was to spent the night in Burqin. From Burqin, it will be a 3 hour-drive to get to Kanasi. The landscape changes considerably from city buildings to the desert dunes outside Urumqi, then to the mountain passes into vast grasslands & pine forests getting to Burqin. It is a good road most of the way except for an hour stretch where we had to go off-track for an hour stretch due to road works(which should be completed in October). It is just simply beautiful views unspoiled over the entire journey that you are afraid to miss if you fall asleep along the drive. There are grazing horses, sheep, cattle and camels scattered the countryside. There is also the traditional tents sitting out in the distance without modern comfort. Along the way, the local entreprising people are selling stones & rocks by the road side. These will be loose mineral stones of different colors, shapes with some fashioned to a bracelet, ear rings or necklace. Reaching Burqin is like the ending of a long scenic movie.

“really beatiful lake!”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

this is the last frontier in Xinjiang! access is hard and expensive. so, u should join the group tour from Ulumqi. it takes 4-day and costs about 300RMB(no meals) to 650RMB(including meals). foods around this area r expensive. so u should take 650RMB tour. tour include a lot of options. almost all options r not worth. but, rainbow beach near Burjing is must option. it is also nice place.
