The roads reaching to Raichak from Kolkata are terrible. Although only 60 kms away it took us almost 3 hours one way. The property has been maintained well but the bungalows at the ffort suites are crying for renovation especially the washrooms. That was the only thing that really disappointed us.

We were there for the New Year's Carnival (as they called it). The program for new Year's eve involved the usual music and open dance floor. The dinner spread laid out was wholesome and the food good. The fireworks display to welcome the new years was beautiful. Must compliment that the entire program was very well managed and the staff amiably helpful. Special mention of Miss Mau who past midnight dropped us to our bungalow in the golf cart and actually wiped off the dew meticulously from our seats.

The breakfast buffet was sufficient with not the most variety but quality food. Staff at the breakfast area were reluctantly helpful. Again the same thing was there with the games area where they had a mixed bunch of staff, one who was very uncooperative and one who was extremely helpful. Most of the gaming activities were shut for new year's and others overbooked. We were contended with darts, archery and the huge chess board.

Overall a pleasant stay .

Room Tip: DONT stay in the ffort suites bungalows

Very good experience of the resort we had. The rooms were clean and the staff was very cordial.
The facilities were also good and the best part was the food. The buffet lunch was excellent.
Footloose Disco was also good with Salsa shows planned for the christmas week.

It was indeed a good trip to ROG and added to the flavour was the stay at fFort. To me the property is indeed appealing keeping in mind the location and the heritage asset however there is a room for improvement especially cleanliness... Unlike major Indian properties it was also built with lots of skill however the maintenance was forgotten along the way. Out of all goods the biggest critics was the behavior of security which is complete inhospitable. Will strongly recommend to have a hotel staff right at the parking to handle the stupid security personnel or else you would face a good embarrassment in front of your family.
One of the good place to relax in the evening is the footloose with good collection of drinks... All in all the service is not to the standard it is rated but when it comes to ROG that's the only option ....

Good:
Very spacious.
Lot of things to do inside the hotel.
Children will enjoy.

Not So Good:
Food is very expensive.
Room Rent is high.
Not well maintained if compared with any other similar expensive hotels.

Room Tip: Room on the higher floor gives better view of River.

Visited Ffort last weekend with family and enjoyed the stay. If you get on to comparing this with any other weekend getaway resorts in other parts of country, you may get disappointed with the services, but with the scenic beauty, greenery and serenity by the Ganges, it certainly is a great place to visit.
It offers lots of open and lush green spaces for time on your own and swimming pool, spa, indoor games, bar and Disco when you want to enjoy company.
The buffet at Reflections has just average spread and taste but the Chinese food at the Orient is good and distinct in taste. Footloose the bar and disco is also a great place to end your day by letting your hair loose in good music and drinks..we did not venture into other restaurants at the resort.
Husband and I booked Anaya Spa for Couple's spa reminiscing the couple spa we took at Maldives, but we were disappointed to know that couple's spa did not have some basics in place and we had to go for separate spas. killing the initial disappointment, the spa in itself was good and the staff was very cordial and ambiance just right to be close to nature and relax. a certain high on this.
We also wandered about "the Ganga Kutir" and "Ganga Kutir, Sundarwasala" during our morning walk and by the look of it, we really like these places more. Since all these are part of the same chain, they are quite connected and facilities are almost common, giving them a try next time is on our do to list.
All in all a very laid back and relaxing weekend, we enjoyed!

Rooms are old and worn-out. Seepage on the walls. Musty smell. Substandard quality of food. Location of the resort is absolutely beautiful. On the bank of river Ganges. Serene atmosphere. This excellent property is definitely not being managed efficiently and professionally. Level of service and the product is definitely not commensurate with the rate that the resort is charging. Overall its definitely not value for money.

it's very beautiful property on river side. one of the best place to chill-out lavishly with great atmosphere. this place is packed with indoor - outdoor games, spa and beautiful swimming pool. please note spa service is quite expensive (we hadn't experienced). we had done boating there that was good. food is also quite delicious.so, over all it is a place where people of 5 - 60 years can enjoy at fullest but mind it you should have heavy pocket.

Room Tip: it is advisable to take rooms where you can enjoy the river view. choose buffet at lunch.
