I visited Mukteshwar along with my spouse and another couple.
The place was very refreshing. Mountain Trail Resort is a place with soothes the eye.
The resort has an excellent view of Himalayas and is a wonderful place to visit.
The rooms are very clean & the staff is very friendly. The food was delicious and the service very courteous. I would recommend buying the chocolates at Mountain Trail resort. The place is value for money and a serene place , which also houses a beautiful and divine small Ganesh temple.
Overall an excellent place to visit for a vacation.

I ve been to Mukteshwar 4-5 times in past 3 years and Mountain Trail has become a default choice to stay in this area. The resort has an excellent location with a great view of the valley and distant snow clad peaks. Cottages are at a slight distance from each other giving privacy and peace. And the closed glass balconies are a perfect place to spend evenings with the family. Plenty of space in the resort to move around, shoot pictures or simply relax at the courtyard, the Machan or the recreation room that has a TT table, Carom. Food was like home made food, simple and delicious, unlike spicy and oily food of most hotels. For one of our tracking trips, they even provided us with packed lunch. Mukteshwar is a great place to spend couple of days in any season and Mountain Trail is the best place in this area. I have stayed their with my family, kids and friends and would highly recommend Mukteshwar and this resort to anyone headed for Kumaon...

We went to Mukteshwar for the first time. Book Mountail Trail Resort after reading reveiws on Tripadvisor, and I can say The place is worth for money. Great Food. The Trees, bird houses and the whole natural setup is great. The only thing is that there is no TV in rooms. They have a common TV in The Club.
We travel in slightly off season and book two rooms and only our 2 rooms out of total 12 rooms are occupied.
Service is good.
Mukteshwar as a place is awesome, free from crowd, great views.

We went there on an outbound training of senior management and stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and 4 days. The ambiance of the place was delightful, coupled with good food, excellent homely type of service. The very walk from reception to the cottage provided enough glimpse of the himalayan ranges, colourful flowers and breathtaking natural beauty and serene surroundings. Certainly a place worth visiting again.

Room Tip: I would suggest a cottage in the corner.

We stayed here for 3 days. and we were treated to the best of service every day.

The manager to the butlers all are well mannered and eager to serve you.

Rooms though basic(luxury for that place) are well maintained and have a small sit out where you can enjoy the morning tea with full view of mountain range and see the sunrise.

There welcome drink made in hills (Lichi and Bransh juice) is excellent. which is served generously in all breakfast.

Mayank was very helpful and courteous during the booking and check in process.

Would recommend everyone the place and the hotel.

Room Tip: all rooms are good. but take one with the covered balcony. As the open ones are like passages.

We stayed at Mountain Trail for a day. It has 12 rooms, 10 of them face the valley with a view of the faraway himalayan range. The other 2 (11 and 12) do not have a view to speak about and is usually empty.

Since we didn't have a reservation, we were offered either of these rooms. Room 11 was neater and better in terms of cleanliness and finishing so we picked it. It is meant to sleep 4 persons but since we were a couple with 2 children, the manager charged us only for a double room.

The food was to be had in the main building which is quite a distance away from the rooms 11 and 12. We had breakfast there but ate dinner in our room as walking in the cold with 2 children didn't appeal to us.

Staff was helpful. The other rooms looked extremely tempting, do try and stay in those rooms if you visit.

We also visited Mohans cafe, the highest point nearby. Had tea and pakoras at the top and had a 360 deg view of the mountains around. Must visit point.

Room Tip: any room but 11 and 12.

I have been to Nainital more than a dozen times, but visited Mukteshwar for the first time, with my family. The place in itself is amazing with total peace and stunning views of the Himalayas. The resort has cottage style rooms with a nice sitting area just outside the cottages. You can see the Sunrise right from your cottage. The resort has a great valley view. The staff is very nice. The food is great. The resort has a big number of fruit trees, which is an added attraction for city dwellers. A small play area for the kids, a library and a game room. There are no televisions in the cottages. It is a great retreat for someone who wants to spend a few days in the lap of mother nature. A small trek from the resort takes you to the Sunset view point, which has stunning scenery and Himalaya view..There is a small chocolate and souvenir shop in the resort...

Room Tip: All cottages have a great view. Don't miss the star lit sky..
