We went to INDeco on 15 Mar 2014 and had a good time. Service was excellent. The resort is spacious. Children enjoyed the playarea. The pool was also clean and well maintained. Can enjoy with family and friends. We will come back.

INDeco Mahabalipuram is a quaint hotel, thoughtfully restored by the present management from an existing TTDC facility which had become run down. It has loads of atmosphere and is right upon the beach. Its is spacious with lots of gardens and a lovely alfresco dining area next to the pool. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The malabar fish curry that the cook turned out for us was delicious, and so was the prawn pepper fry.

Only two suggestions: the AC did not work well, made a lot of noise, and we couldn't open the windows due to the mosquitoes - so they should have mosquito mesh on the windows - all the more so since it is right on the beach and the sea breeze can be felt inside the rooms if this simple facility is provided. Secondly, the "Clive Bar" needs to be spruced up - right now its garishly painted/lit and resembles a cheap town bar. The bar has lots of space outside also, it can be made really nice with lots of ambience. The staff are friendly and overall its a good eco-hotel if you are not particular about 5-star stuff only.

We d stayed in another Steve Borgia hotel a few days before and having enjoyed that a great deal we were looking forward to the one at Mahibilpuram very much. Initial impressions were good. The hotel was wonderfully central. We were given a good welcome and the reception area was both pleasant and interesting.
Then we went to our room. Depressing and shabby with a rundown feeling about it all.
Later to the pool and again this had looked very inviting. I was just about to lie down on one of the few sunbeds when I was warned that the bed was covered with bird droppings. The 2 sunbeds that had mattresses were covered with stains and it took repeated efforts to get any towels as well as 25 minutes. My husband got in the pool and nearly put his foot into what appeared to be a drain which had no cover and was full of leaves. Nothing to stop him putting his foot right into it. Also we were very concerned about old light fittings under the water with wiring hanging out. We hoped there was no chance these could ever be live. The area around the pool was swept regularly but never washed and it wasn't surprising with all the trees around that there was bird droppings everywhere that had dried.
We investigated the bar which was isolated and depressing.
Breakfast was a grim experience. Flies everywhere. Even under the few covers that were over the buffet. I gave up with eating any breakfast.
The staff were pleasant and wanted to please but the place is so poorly managed.
It's clear that Steve Borgia is extending the hotel onto the beach but the existing area desperately needs an overhaul first to make it a hotel of any quality.
It s put me off exploring the third hotel.

Had a party with my bike riders, we were close to 1200 and had a blast there for 2 days 24hour.
the staff was helpful as they were completely hijacked by our guys and it was like we are in our personal resort. the atmosphere is great and one can enjoy the music with nice view in the background.

Stayed at Indeco Hotel Mahabalipuram in June 2013 , Its a seaside resort. The rooms are made in a eco friendly manner and the ceiling of the room which i stayed in was a a unique dome . the over all feel is of stay at a heritage site . Lot of effort has been made to collect period memorablia like the door of erstwhile Madras Jail . The reception has a similar ambience with period furniture and also drfit wood washed up from the after effect of the Tsunami . There is a poolside and opportunitites for recreational activities. The bar also has a good ambience and is reasonably priced . There is a Kerala Ayurvedic massage facility also available. The resort is few hundred metres away from the beach and one can go for a early morning walk . The staff are helpful and responsive . The restaurant is simple and functional. Suggested for a leisure stay or an offsite meeting . Pick up drop is easily arranged from the hotel at reasonable prices.

Room tip: all are fine , depends how far one wants to be from the central reception
