I am not sure of the transactions or experiences of the most recent travelers of this place, so may have a contrasting view of the place. I simply loved it.

The hotel was right on the beach and just steps away from the majestic Shore Temple. It was close to the Mahabalipuram bus stand and less than few hundred meters from Othavadai Street (the eat street of the town). We booked a deluxe room and it was exactly as seen on the web. The room was airy and spacious. The washroom was clean and big and considering we had a lady traveller - it met the desired expectations.

The thing to call out was the restaurant. We had two of our meals breakfast and dinner on all days and it was sumptuous. The kitchen and chef made sure the food had the desired aroma and taste. What made it even more special was the staff. In all bingo!

I would not blink twice to go back to Mahabalipuram and back to INDeco Hotel.

Room Tip: Pick a deluxe room - it comes with a big bed and an ac and a tv with satellite connection.

just back from my trip to mahabalipuram and pondicherry.. stayed in indeco in mahabalipuram for a night... It is not a good place to spend one's vacation and definitely not worth the price they are charging... to start with reception lobby is very hapahazard and doesn't give good feel... to attend to your luggage they have lady staff with no trolley.. rooms are very poorly ventilated with smell, ac is more of a noise making unit rather than keeping the room cool, bathrooms though reasonably clean but disouraged me from taking any bath... mattresses are like thing quilts... chairs outside room lobby broken .... restaurant food is bad.. you can discount this as it is not so good across mahabalipuram.. we tried couple of other places.. at least they can make sure that they have staff to wait upon while one is in restaurant... its a big property and it require some effort to maintain it which is cleary misssing.. so customer effectively is in one big messy place..
best part about this property is it is walkable from beach...

all in all this property is not worthy of 3 stars.. at best 2 stars and price one pay is not value for money.. i would have liked it if i would have paid <2000/- rather than 3500+taxes for this property...

i booked this hotel after going through reviews on tripadvisor and makemytrip.. i think though i got the feel that this may not be good...but i somehow went ahead.. but it is big NO from my side for this property

A good family vacation destination.

The property is right next to the Shore temple with a straight passage to the beach (though not a private beach).

Had a 2 night stay which was very comfortable. The resort has a good collection of some antiques including Chennai Prison Gate (though not antique).

A comfortable place to unwind for 2-3 days.

Near the heart of Mahabalipuram, just next to the beach, this is a pretty little peaceful resort which looks like an upscale village. You can walk down to the beach, which is always deserted unlike most other beaches. There are hardly any rocks on this flat beach; you can easily swim and watch the sun rise. The walk to the beach is through the resort, so you don't have to go through the town at all. The town has a lot of sculptors and shops of handicrafts. There are many superb historic monuments to be seen here, but the resort is self-sufficient for those looking for a couple of days of relaxation. Beyond that, there isn't much to do here.

This resort is full of amazing antique machines as the owner is quite the collector. The food is very good compared to most other much grander places. Lots of it too, buffet style. Folks who like non-veg, spicy Tam style will love it. The swimming pool is very clean and big.

Greenery abounds, while gentle sea breezes blow towards you. A blind flautist plays divinely at dinner time. The staff strives to please. We have been here twice, as it is preferable to stay here than in Chennai since the place does have history after all!

Room Tip: Choose the newer rooms as they are larger, airy and cleaner.

We had booked 3 rooms for me and my friends and stayed for two nights. The rooms are decent but the location is perfect. Its walking distance from the beach and the Shore temple. It has a swimming pool which is pretty ok. The service the really good, they are quick to come with the food or towels or anything which you ask for. There is enough parking space for your four wheeler. But the problem is, since its right next to the shore temple you have to dodge a lot of traffic to get here. Our stay here was really nice and enjoyable.

This property ticks all the basic requirements for visitors to Mahabalipuram. Close to Shore temple and other attractions, quick access to beach, swimming pool, permit room, reasonably good restaurant for Indian palate. Rooms are well kept, reasonably sized and with adequate privacy. House keeping is prompt and above average. Swimming pool is good enough for a lazy soak - they don't serve beer or liquor at the pool. Food quality is average and the complimentary break fast is good although they start a little late at 0800hrs. A distinct character of the property is tried to be achieved through collectibles around the main reception area and dining area- worth a close look. No private beach but easy access from the property. Overall good value for money.

We were in indeco resorts last weekend. Proximity to beach , pool and villa type rooms are the positive aspects of the resort. As we were large group around 100 of us. It was real fun. Their banquet hall is not plush but decent enough. The resort arranged for games which were just okay but good enough to while away the time we had to wait for the dinner. The food was mediocre. Though they have displayed warning on insects, frogs in spite of the rain we did not come across any of them. I guess we were lucky .
