The idol of lord Vishnu in a sleeping posture with 3 hands on floor and 4th one calling the devotees along with Pundarika Maharishi near Padam is an eye catching one. An ugly modern Agramantapam is being built by the trust I guess, which will actually bring down the attractiveness of this temple. I don't know why govt allows such things.

Most foreign tourists come to Mahabalipuram for the archaeological sites, but this temple in the middle of town should not be missed. I went in the early morning, when the temple was crowded with locals, and found the ritual activities going on in virtually every corner of the temple complex very interesting. An added bonus is that non-Hindus are allowed in, which is far from always the case in southern India.

One of the 108 Divya Desams, this is a temple of religious importance to Vaishnava Brahmins of the Hindu faith. The magnificence of the deity and the temple ... an amazing experience.

An ancient temple for Sriman Narayana as Sri Sthala Sayana perumal , the Lord is berift of Sri Adisesha , the floor is his resting place , bhattar here beautifully recites pasuram from prabandam while performing arati , Thayar is also beautiful. Sri Varahaswami temple at thiruvidandai is also close by . There is an ancient rock cut temple for Sri Varahaswami apart from this temple .
