“Spectacular piece of Art”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

The Sea-Shore temple looks magnificent and overlooks the beach. It has good photo-ops and has a beautiful sculpture of a reclining Vishnu inside there. Though most of the sculptures are a little blurred on account of the sea winds and sands hitting it, the structure is still strong and makes for a beautiful sight. It even has one small section, which apparently was found only after the recent Tsunami attack and it is believed that there are many more such structures available around the place.

“Amazing monument of Ancient India”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

Sea Shore Temple at Mahbalipuram is an Example of Ancient Indian Architecture. Even after facing 1300 years of sea perils this monolith temple carved out of stone is Magnificently standing on the Shore of mahabalipuram sea. Carvings are amazing. now it is surrounded by cool garden. Part of WORLD HERITAGE. A must see for the travelers.

“Unesco Heritage Site”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

I was a bit disappointed by the feel of this temple now that it has been set in a garden and is overrun by tourists and preferred the Five Rathas and Arjuna's Penance. Guides aren't worth it as their explanations are canned and leafned and English not too good.

“Must see when you are going to chennai”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

We visited the temple on a hot sunny afternoon and it would be better if you visit the temple in morning or, evening when sun is not so blazing.

This ancient Monolithic stone temple is on sea shore with a huge garden. You will be amazed to see the beautiful stone carvings even though it has started to wear out.

This temple sets a mesmerizing view to eyes with green-blue sea at a background.
