“Beautiful setting, river flowing through an orange garden”
Review of Sewaro Rock Garden

Sewaro Rock Garden
Ranked #9 of 10 things to do in Pelling

This place has been renamed as "River Orange Garden" and is also known as "Rimbi Orange Garden" (on Google Maps). The entrance (ticketed) is on the busy Pelling-Khecheopalri road (near Rimbi Waterfall) and you have to walk down from the road for 5 minutes to reach the river. The whole place is quite peaceful and beautiful - a clean & calm stream of water flowing through the forest and over many big & small rocks (hence "rock garden"). The path to the river winds down through a well-maintained garden - it's clean and has basic facilities like bathrooms and a small canteen. There are a lot of orange trees in the garden, but we being out of season, no oranges. There are lots of flowers, many cardamom shrubs (Pelling is famous for it) and few other fruit trees. After walking down the hill through the garden, you can just sit near the river with your feet in the cold water or be more adventurous and cross to the other side. The water is clean and seems safe enough.

This is a garden with exhibits of Orange and Cardamom plants. Well-kept and well- maintained, the garden leads to the shore of River Rimbhi via an easy hike on the paved path. The ticket is priced at 20 INR/person and it is totally worth it. This place offers ample photography opportunities. You will spend half an hour to forty minutes here.

Nice place to visit if you love being photographed in nature. It's more of a organised location of floating mountain rivers and hills behind you. Nearby you can also visit orange gardens .

Pelling itself is blessed place to visit. This place was called Sewaro Rock Garden now it's change to River Orange Garden. If you are in Pelling then it's a sight seeing on the way to Kecheopalri Lake. They have minimum amount of entry fee Rs.10/-. I think that fee will be great help for garden development. Everywhere you will find fresh vibrant orange trees, black cardamons (locally grown in Pelling) & it's a must buy from Pelling ( am already using in my cooking it's having a fresh flavor). There is small shop inside the garden selling locally produce black cardamons, walnuts, organic tea, local drink (like tadi)etc. Oranges are small in sizes and too sour. We have seen school children's visited to study horticulture. Down there river is flowing dashing with huge and small rocks one can enjoy with more clicks.
