Well, Pelling is a just a small town, unlike Gangtok and after reading the reviews i decided to settle for Rabdentse Residency for my visit in Mar 2014. I had booked a superior double room with an extra bed (we were a family of 3 adults) after seeing the pics sent by the Rabdentse team.
The hotel is in lower pelling and one needs to descend a few steps (lined by beautiful flower pots) to reach the reception.
Mr. Nayak helped us check in. However,we were quite disappointed with the room as it was much smaller than it looked in the pics and once the extra bed would be in, there would have been no room to move. Hence we enquired if there was a bigger room available and luckily there was. Mr. Nayak promptly showed us the Kings Crown room and we were very pleased to see the size of the room and the view it offered and check right in.

Pelling being the small town doesnt have many professional hotels, but Mr. Nayak along with the Room service boys Raju and Thupgay took very good care of us and were prompt in delivering anything we needed :)

The hotel has a restaurant couple of floors below the reception and the food is cooked by the same very people and has a very homely taste to it. You can always ask Mr.Nayak to cook a particular dish for you and if you give him enough time , you ll be sure to get a delicious meal.
The aloo parathas that were served during breakfast were simply finger licking good! :)
There is a small lawn attached to the restaurant which also offers a fantastic view of Kanchenjunga, in case your room doesnt offer you one.

The Kings Crown room is probably the biggest the hotel has and has good amenities and a great view of Kanchenjunga. On a clear day its just fantastic to watch the sunrise on the mountains. Sometime rain can play spoilsport and cloud out the view - and also lead to power failures. ( it happened to us) .Rabdentse does have generators which means you ll not be stranded in the dark - however dont expect the geyser to work. The team can help you with hot water in buckets though :)

Mr.Nayak helped us with all the sightseeing related bookings (all good drivers and cars) and guided us well throughout. Thanks to him and his team we had a wonderful stay at Pelling!
Thumbs up to Rabdentse!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are wonderful - Kings Crown, Quens Necklace & Knights Armour ( i think) all were wonderful. Superior rooms are fine only for 2 but I dint find them to be too clean .

I a very nice moments staying in rabdebse residency. Rooms were nice big clean and washroom were also clean. Room service were also beautiful. you will get everything you need for.
Foods quality were good. you will get a hygienic food with less spicy.....

And the most important part is that the view of kanchanjanga hill is clear from your room itself. you no need to have to go outside of the hotel... All over its a nice hotel...

Room Tip: Your can choose rabdebse residency as a part of ur trip.......

one have to descend 50 steps from the main road of lower pelling opposite to hotel tashiling [this hotel has no car parking facility]...but it is located at one of the most exquisite points to view mt. kanchenjenga ...I could see the range almost from my bed [room type-- double superior]...management was good and services was on time..guests are called upon by intercom whenever the meals are ready..in my case it was right on time for each dinner..room was spacious and clean..manager mr. nayek and mr. subal are professional,to- the -point and experienced guys..tobke and raju these two room-service boys were also very swift...[you have to reach the back yard in the morning for the view if you are staying in a non-view room..]

Room Tip: go for view rooms...if not available...then reach the back yard through the dining door/window to witness mt. K ...

Had booked two rooms well in advance on the way from Gangtok to Darjeeling. We reached there after sunset .It was terribly cold outside and we started to shiver as soon as we landed there. The hotel was located towards lower Pelling ,as the hill bends there, the hotel offers a great picturesque of the snowcapped Kanchendjunga. The hotel management has upgraded our reservation to kings crown and queens necklace room .The staffs were very courteous ,the service was excellent .They didn’t even charged for the soup we disliked. Food was just OK. The ambience was very good .I liked the getup and interior of the Robdentse hotel. The entrance was horrible but for the very purpose it was excellent .We can observe the glowing snowcapped Kanchendjunga from the room itself at the time of Sunrise. Very spacious rooms ,so the room heater we rented could warm the whole room. On the way to pelling from Gangtok we visited Budha park (amaging) .

Room Tip: back side rooms particularly kings crown and queens necklace are the best ones.
