“Get a Swiss Experience here..”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We went to this place during the end of October 2012. It was an absolutely amazing experience. We enjoyed the snowfall, the breathtaking view of the himalayas, yak rides, and a memorable experience of playing with the snow. Yumesangdong (Zero point) is a must -see. The place is about 15000 ft above sea level and one of the highest motorable roads in India. About a few kms from there, you are in Tibet. It's a very tourist - friendly place and offers snow throughout the year, although it is closed during Dec - Jan as the snow covers the area completely. During Mar -Apr you can find the trees blooming with flowers and extremely beautiful. (I heard you can find around 140 varieties of flowers during that time!!)
Things to note are - It is a high altitude area, and the oxygen levels are quite low, so if you have asthma or any breathing problems, its not very advisable to go there. Be equipped with ample warm clothing, including gloves and something to cover your face too, except your eyes ,of course. And don't forget your rubber boots, which can be hired from there for a nominal fee, else be prepared to bid your precious shoes goodbye coz you cannot walk on the snow with regular shoes.
Overall it's an awesome place to be, you can infact get a Swiss experience right here in India. and maybe better than that.

“Underrated Beauty- Sikkim”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

Amazing place though road conditions are a bit tough. You can enjoy the total journey of Gangtok to zero point because every second a beautiful sight is infront of your eye. Night stay at lachung was very memorable, we had no winter jackets with us, so we hired it for Rs 100/- (jacket, gloves, monkey caps, gumboots) before the journey of zeropoint from Lachung. Keep some medicine, extra battery for camera. The journey from Lahung via yumthang to zero point and yumthang and zero point itself are awesome....Hands-up...No-words....Go there and take the feast of nature's beauty Alok

“Must visit in your lifetime”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

Have attached some pics. That will tell it all. The place is amazing, mind-blowing, heavenly and should be on everyone's must-visit list. The entire journey from the Lachung valley to Yumthung (Valley of Flowers) to Zero Point is so picturesque and beautiful that you would not want to take your eyes off the surrounding beauty. A couple of points to note - (1) this place is at high altitude (I think more than 15,000 feet) and you may feel a bit of breathlessness and short of oxygen sometime, so don't try to be hyperactive there; (2) the place seems not suitable for very young children. Although I had my three and half year old daughter with me there and she was okay, I saw some young kids over there who were not feeling well and were crying; (3) Don't cross the river if you are with kids - you and kids probably would end up getting wet and then it would feel terrible - anyways carry an extra paid of clothes for kids; (4) try noodles, momos etc. sold by local shops over there, you'll feel good eating those.

“Play with snow after seeing Rhododendron at Yumthang”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Liked everything - disliked nothing. Great journey from Yumthang Valley. Liked the road, rhododendron flowers on both side of the road. Paradise on earth. Local people are trying to keep this place clean - please help them.
