Cold place in valley within hill, tree, stone for relaxing stop for snacks and hot drinks. The hot water spring is surprise here. Landslide sensitive area.

we visited in November, so definitely no colours in the valley but it is a beautiful place. Anyone travelling in winters can skip it if they are skipping Zero point. If you plan to go to zero point, this falls on the way and takes about 30 minutes of time.

A short travel from Lachung will bring you here. Comfortable drivable road, chilling weather, mesmerising view of snow cladded mountain peaks on one side and lachung river on other side with a huge plain sloppy ground in between. Good for photography. Clean public toilets available. Some guest houses also available, for those who want to stay here. From here Zero point is further up. Carry warm clothing and head gears. Don't involve in running here as less oxygen available might cause breathing problems. Two Yaks are available for ride @Rs 100 per ride. Before reaching this place, a hot spring spot is there for those who are interested and have time in hand (it is not a roadside hot spring). Must go place

The popular Yumthang Valley in North Sikkim is located 140 km North of Gangtok. Famous as the "Valley of flowers", this is a rare and exotic valley where the tree line ends. Yumthang Valley is a must visit on your holiday to Sikkim and the nearby beautiful town of Lachung is the base station for an expedition of Yumthang. The Yumthang Valley is a paradise for nature lovers with a spectacular blend of flora and fauna and splendid picturesque beauty. Unique wildflowers such as primulas and Rhododendrons cover the entire valley in rich colours every spring, making it a great tourist attraction.

The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary that is situated here has 24 species of Rhododendron flowers which blossom from April to May end. A hot spring situated on the right side of Yumthang River is a very well-known tourist hotspot. Apart from a cosmic green meadow, plush green forest abundant in Pine and silver fir trees fill the area. On your way towards the valley, you can see gushing waterfalls and streams. It also offers a spectacular sight of a splendid row of peaks with Pauhunri and Shundu Tsenpa. A few more kms away further north is Shiv Mandir and a trek to this temple is a very refreshing experience. Lying further north at a distance of 16 km is Yumesamdong where the rocky vegetation- free mountains present a beautiful view.

I was there when it snowed in the night so I was mesmerized with the beauty of the location. I was there capturing pics for almost 2 hours as I didn't want to leave this place without capturing the memories of this place.

What a place! A valley nestled away in the high altitudes of Himalayas. Almost no tourists this time of the year (beginning of October). The famous rodendrones were not there but in spite of that the entire valley was makestic! Small shacks serving eggs and waiwai. One of the cleanest places to visit in India.
It is about an hour's ride from Lachung.

Popularly called The Valley Of Flowers, the name couldn't have been more apt. The riot of colours welcome as you approach Lachung. Its like picture postcard, the river flowing by,hot springs and the meadows..its probably the best part pf Sikkim!!

This place was one of the highlights of our trip. It wasn't too crowded and the temperature wasn't harsh as well. One of the best places at Lachung. <3

The flowers are there only in the season (April-June). Otherwise a quiet, calm and serene place on the way to the Zero Point. A river flowing in the valley surrounded by mountains.
