This infact is one of the best properties I have ever visited. Right from the first step that one makes into the hotel upto the last step out, every single moment, the hotel provides a royal treatment to the guests. Be it the rooms, restraunt, swimming pool, food or whatever, everything is unique, luxurious and royal. The swimming pool on the deck is the best I have ever seen.

This was the highlight of our Golden Triangle Tour. Almost every one of our hotels exceeded our expectations - but this was the best of all. And the list included the quite exceptional Oberoi Amarvillas in Agra.
We chilled out here for two days - a welcome relaxation between Agra and Jaipur. And I recommend that everyone does this!! The atmosphere is unmatched. No modern hotel can replicate the atmosphere of a heritage hotel like this. The Palace itself is a maze of beautifully decorated rooms and passageways. And everything works. We had a beautiful suite overlooking one of the courtyards. We loved the pool at the side of the hotel which was surpringly quiet during the day. Good food. Excellent service.
The only negative - roads to the hotel are not good and our driver had to find a very roundabout route to get there. 42kms to Jaipur allegedly. It will take you some time. But it is most certainly worth it.

This was beautiful setting, the suite was lovely and the views very nice.
However the spa treatments were expensive and the hotel restaurant was expensive.

The stalls selling goods just outside are a rip off as I found and the vendors insistant.

We had a wonderful time at Samode Palace. Too bad we stayed only one night. The site is gorgeous, the building superb and our room was great. There are two magnificent swimming pools too. And the village nearby (a few minutes away on foot) is very interesting. We will definitely try to come back one day!

Where to start? Well, the setting for us, as we neared the end of our trip to India was perfect. As Dusty Springfield sang it was "In the middle of nowhere!" Our suite was wonderfully appointed with quality furniture and fittings. We could have held a party for 50 people and not been squashed. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The infinity pool on the second level was great to sit beside, though the water was cold, the views of the surrounding mountains were stunning. Restaurants were great, one was buffet style with good choices, the other served from the menu. The Treatment Spa was relaxing with well trained therapists. All in all an excellent choice.
