The hotel was good, the facilities were good, the pool was the best feature.

The average review is due to the customer service at the hotel. The staff, one member in particular seemed overly keen to try and sell you things. Furthermore when a staff member asked where we had eaten dinner, and our response being "somewhere else nearby which had been recommended by a friend" he almost told us off for not eating at the hotel restaurant. I am pretty sure the choice of where you eat is always up to the customer, and the customer has the right to choose...

The rooms were very nice though, we stayed bottom floor facing the pool with nice bay window.

I would start with the positives first: a large space, well kept garden, and a wonderful setting.

Now for my experience: I visited during June 2013, a lean season, we took 2 delux rooms, the AC in one was never functional & in the other partially functional. After repeated requests we were given a smaller room with an AC which could not be temperature controlled, without a remote...we kept requesting all day, finally at night the manager told me "it is only Indians who have problems, we have western guests and they have no problem". It just made me wild, and then the manager kept on giving all excuses. Trying to prove that I was wrong or for that matter Indian Guests are wrong.

The swimming pool is not properly managed, the sides are sharp with salt deposits and heavily chlorinated (fumes came out & eyes irritated after the swim)

The restaurant isn't even air cooled, the manager commented casually "sit in the garden & eat...the wind will start blowing soon."

After such a positive feedback from fellow trip advisor reviewers...this was a huge huge let down. I will never go again...guys u can take your call.

Room Tip: All ACs seem to have some or the other problem, check AC before taking up the room.

We stayed here for 4 nights in March having spent the previous 3 weeks packing in a lot of sightseeing in Delhi, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. We knew we wanted to visit the Jain Temple whilst we were here, but we also selected this hotel as a comfortable place to spend a few days and recharge our batteries before continuing our trip around Rajasthan. The swimming pool was a big plus.

Yogi, Rakesh and staff made us very welcome and were always polite and helpful. Our room which was opposite the tented accommodations was spacious and really nicely decorated. In fact the decor was really good throughout the hotel. The bathroom had plenty of hot water.

The pool and gardens are really attractive and a great place to relax provided it isn't too hot. We were just about ok in early March but another few weeks and I reckon the heat would be fierce.
The restaurant has a buffet and a la carte menu. We tended to stick with the a la carte menu as we found the buffet menu unappealing. A rather dull buffet breakfast was included in the price of our stay but we had to pay extra for a fruit juice which seemed a bit mean. Surely this should be included in the price.

We booked a 2 hour horse ride through the hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed although it isn't cheap- 2000 RS each. The horses were really well behaved which was good as I am a novice rider. We had asked for a slow ride which is certainly what we got, what I hadn't realised was that 2 lads would be escorting us on foot - suddenly that 2000RS doesn't seem so much! The ride took us up to a lake where we saw a number of crocodile cruising and a huge number of wading birds and some peacocks. It was very rural and very enjoyable.

The nearby Jain Temple is everything you will ever read about it - just beautiful. The hotel can provide a jeep to drop you down there, but it isn't necessarily so easy to get a rickshaw back, so I would recommend arranging a pick up time with the hotel.

When we came to leave Ranakpur, Rakesh arranged for a car and driver to take us to our next destination Udaipur via Kumbelgarh Fort which is a must see. All in all a very good 4 days.

This was my second visit to Ranakpur Hill Resort. Yogi, Rakesh and the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a great spot if you want to break up the trip between Jodphur and Udaipur. The nearby Jain Temple is one of the best in the country. Well worth a stop.

A wonderful hotel set in gorgeous countryside, and close to the most amazing Jain temple. Our room was clean and spacious, with a lovely window seat overlooking the garden. The swimming pool in the garden is great - a good size and it wasn't cold once you got in! I enjoyed a two hour horse ride in the morning, saw rural life and beautiful birds. We were, however, disappointed with the food, both at dinner and breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
