Thank you everyone who has reviewed this hotel before - they were right a fantastic boutique hotel. It does not look promising from the outside (by the main road) but inside it has been imaginatively restored. The hotel is right by the fort. There is parking next to the road (free - in a lay-by by bus stop), in Hone (across the bridge) or in a underground car park (you need to pay but not much). Our room was at the front on the 2nd floor. It was big, the bed King sized and comfortable and the bathroom had a huge shower. There was satalite TV but no English channels. We dinned at the hotel restaurant. It was well worth it. Breakfast was continental and beautifully served. All in all out best hotel and dinner of our trip. Highly recommended.
Do go to see the fort you can ride the lifts and see the public areas for free. The view of the valley is worth it.

Loved this hotel. Excellent restaurant and wonderful staff. The food here was better than most restaurants we went to. They made Made great recommendations about the area. I would happily return to this hotel.

a small hotel in a stunning location. Rooms all very very nice, plenty of space, and such helpful staff. Excellent menu in restaurant and very good breakfast for Italy, would really recommend for anyone wanting a break.

Slightly unprepossessing from the outside, but this lovely little hotel, run by excellent staff, is well worth stopping at. The interior of the building has been architect designed to make the most of the rock walls, with a glass lift in the centre, and clever lighting. My room had a superb bathroom with a huge walk-in shower (perfect after a long hot day's hiking) and a view over the fortress of Bard, which guards the medieval village. We dined there twice and were treated to wonderful food, served by fantastic staff, featuring unusual local wines and produce. Parking is not on site although there is a drop-off area and the road can be noisy outside, but for the site and experience alone this is a place not to miss.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Bard fortress - it's breathtaking at night.

This place wasn't easy to find, and it didn't look much from the outside, but what a place ! It sits on the edge of the road clinging to the mountain side. The bedrooms are beautiful, even the lift is engineered into the mountain side. Right on the top there's a room your party can book for dinner with a view over the valley. Don't forget to take a quick look at the wine cellar half way up the staircase. The service was excellent and very friendly.
