“Yercaud hill station Salem India”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

An ideal hill station for the budget conscious traveller. It is reachable by car from Salem town within around 2 hours. Buses are also available. It has lodgings to suit every kind of traveller, from the backpacking kind to the limousine lords. The temperature is not very extreme and is bearable in all seasons, though the rainy season can be avoided.

“Nice place to visit once”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

One can't compare this with Ooty or Kodaikanal. But since it is nearer to a city like salem, well connected by road and rail up to salem, it is worth visiting atleast once... If someone is coming on a tour to south covering Mysore , Bangalore, coimbatore, he can directly drive to yercaud as the ghat road is well laid and wide enough. There are 20 hairpin bends , quite easy to negotiate in today's world of power steering...

There is small lake with boating sevice. Two viewing points viz., Ladies and Gents seats..horticulture farm, Pagoda point ( another veiw point) on the sides of which one come across bauxite ore field. Good hotels and resorts are there... In summer u dont find it very cool, rather quite warm. Best part of the year is Oct - Feb ...

“Nice place for a weekend..Not much crowded is a + point”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

I have been in Yercaud on this 14th of July, a Sunday. I was with my office group to attend a marriage in Tiruchengode on Saturday..we just planned to enjoy Sunday on a near by place..With suggestion of few people and with very little expectations we went to Yercaud. But surprisingly, the place was far more better than our expectation.. It was none less than a hill station. The great thing about the place is that it is not too much crowded, the thing which I would love while travelling to new places. There are few view points from the perspective of a hill. Those all were nice and we enjoyed a lot. The lake in Yercaud is also good.

Cons: 20 hair pin bends on the road while going to top of the hill, which can make little uneasy to any one.
Yercaud is very near by Bangalore and with in a single day or a weekend you can enjoy it well. It was refreshing and awesome tour for us. Place is really nice to enjoy with friends. it would be better if some one is accompanying you who have been in Yercaud before or know the place very well.

“Perfect For a Lazy Indulgent Weekend Gateway”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

My review is mostly for people from Blore and Chennai looking for options of weekend gateways. Yercaud is pretty little hill-station, unexplored and untouched. It is not as mesmerizing as Nainital, and not many places to see if you are aiming at a sight-seeing trip. A small park, few commercial coffee plantations and lake are the main attractions. The lake offers boating, but frankly, an hour is enough to cover the whole lake.

But here are some reasons, why You should make a trip to Yercaud:
Dotted with beautiful coffee plantations and a lake in the center of the town, you can walk your heart out on the winding roads. Some very good resorts available with great value for money option. Grange resorts offer Dirt-biking. Not many sight-seeing options, so you can have a lazy, indulgent weekend gateway that you always crave.

Caution: The place sleeps early, so you won't find autos/ cabs easily in the evening. Not many eat-out places. Better to have your own vehicle for commuting

“Yercaud, Salem, Tamil Nadu”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Yercaud is one of the very nice hill stations and I would say less explored... It is a little cheaper when compared to the other hill stations but at the same time beautiful with its mist and greens. It is best for short trips and also visitors can enjoy a scenic beauty ... Don't miss out on the tea in Yercaud ... We loved it ...The weather is pleasant ... A good place to visit with family ...
