Given the wide range of experiences reported by those reviewing this hotel, I was somewhat apprehensive about staying here. However it fit our budget and had a vacancy. After 2 nights stay I have no big negatives except the uncertainty of the WIFI. I believe the first floor is an original Havelli and the second floor is new. It feels like someone's idea of a Haveli rather than the real things. That said, our second floor room and bathroom were clean, bright and pleasant. There was lots of hot water as well. The management is trying hard in some ways such as small complimentary toiletries and clean drinking glasses. I would have loved to have had more than just two thin, although large enough, bath towels.
I did't find the management particularly warm or involved. They seemed curiously unconcerned about the vagaries of the Wifi. However requests for items such as extra toilet paper or blankets were attended to quickly. All areas of the hotel are freshly painted and are kept very clean. There are attractive chairs in the two lobbies. It would be nice to have a smokers section however as both were sometimes used for this purpose. The breakfast was unexceptional but perfectly adequate - boiled eggs, scrambled if requested, porridge, bananas, toast, tea and coffee.More
