I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with 3 friends during our 40th birthday trip.
The place is a fantastic combination of natural area with hiking and biking opportunties with very comfortable accomodations. In addition to this, the couple who owns and runs the hotel is very warm, smart and sophisticated people.
It is interesting and fun to talk with them on many topics and learn about their own trips in the world as well as recieve thier reccomendations about travelling in Norway.
The food in the hotel (both breakfast and dinner) very high quality and was a pleasure for itself.
Thanks to the special accomodations (both rooms hotel and separated family huts) this seems to be a great fit for couples who look for a high qulity natural accomodations as well as for families with children who wants to enjoy a large comfortable hut in nature.
My friends and i enjoyed the stay very much and I plan coming back there with my family (hopefuly soon).

I have been staying here for a week each winter for the last 4 years. It is in a small village at the edge of the Rondane national park- summer is all walking and winter is all cross country skiing.

If you are expecting a business centre, trouser press or even televsions in the rooms then forget it. This hotel is un-ashameidly focussed on the outdoors and in such a great surrounding there is no reason why you would need to hide away in your room.

There are a number of comunal sitting rooms all with big comy soffas and open fires- children are welcomed warmly.

The meals are all of local produce and often the meat or fish has been caught or shot by the owners themselves. Dont expect a choice of courses- but do expect the food to be good and there to be plenty of it.

Most of the rooms are in the hotel itself but there are a nmber of old wooden huts (some self catering if you wish) that can be rented and are very atmospheric.

The owners are fully of local information and will willing help organise things for you.

Very good for the outdoors type but forget it if you prefer the uniformity of hotel chains.
