The Riverside path is fantastic and views superb! Highly recommended for a walking weekend. We hope to do the whole circuit in summertime!

“The Best Santa Ever! Winter Wonderland.”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

I have just read a recent review and must disagree! We visited on the 21st December 2012 and despite the rain had a truly wonderful experience. Our son is eight and very much doubting Santa. This day had me believing! The build up to actually seeing Santa made it really special. The staff were all, without exception, so cheerful and helpful. The actors really made the day. As for Santa, absolutely magical! He had all the children (and parents) in the palm of his hand. He remained silent at the beginning and just looked at all of them as if remembering each one individually. It was really special. He spoke to each one separately and referred to things only they would know. I thought it was wonderful and our son left having had a brilliant day. I know the gift from Santa is a bauble, but it comes in a box from Santa. They do get to keep a wooden partridge that they make on the day as part of the experience and some oats to leave out on Xmas eve. Our son, who is not easily impressed really loves the bauble. I think he will treasure it as a memory, rather than a bigger, more valuable toy that would be forgotten. In addition, adults do get a separate gift each for themselves. We thought it offered reall value for money as a day out given all of the activities. The Boat Inn (I think it was called) served lovely food too. We can't recommend it enough as a really special visit to Santa. I will certainly remember it as a very special day. I only wish I had done it earlier as I think our son will be too old for it next year!

“Kielder winter wonderland”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

DONT EVER DO IT ! The whole thing was dreadful and given the price you would assume that it would be a fantastic experience. It cost 120 pounds for a family of four , this included a tree decoration given by a very creepy santa to the children . The productions were boring and unimanginative . The place was very busy and adults were pushing forward so children were unable to see . Huge waiting time for snow ride . NEVER AGAIN !!

We went to Kielder Winter Wonderland, staying for a weekend in a log cabin. The place was so picturesque and imagine in the summer it being brilliant, to head off walking or biking around the reservoir, with plenty to see and do. We would love to back in the warmer months. Staff are extremely friendly and accomodating and their is a bird of prey centre on site.
