“Really enjoyable afternoon”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

I visited the Kielder Water Bird of Prey centre whilst on holiday in the park with my wife and baby and were really impressed with the afternoon we spent there.

We watched the first demonstrations at 1:30, had a look around the centre, went for a walk in the nearby woods by the lake and went back in for the 3:00 demonstration which was very different with different birds flying.

The people running the centre were very friendly and if you spend the time to talk to them they care deeply about all of their birds and spend hours hand rearing them and training them.

Comments about poor living conditions in my opinion are unfounded.

Would highly recommend the centre as a nice family activity, you can even stoke the small owls and everyone is the audience has an opportunity to have one of the brids of prey on their arm if wanted.

“Nice little place”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

We stayed in a cabin in the same park as the prey centre and our little boy was amazed by the birds although too young to understand. The staff were really helpful.

“Fabulous!!!! :D”
Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

We love coming to the bird of prey centre, it is such a hands on experience feeding and holding the birds. Ray is fantastic at what he does-very knowledgable and brilliant interacting with the children. We go to see both shows when we visit with our little girl who is 7. She loves it, and each time is different so always interesting. Well worth it!!!

“Lovely owls, poor living conditions.”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

The birds were beautiful, and there is a great selection.

Unfortunately the birds looked miserable, tied up by short strings onto little perches. One falcon looked terrified and ill. Wouldn't give them my money again.

We didn't see a demonstration.
