“All you could ask for”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

Vine Cottage is a quiet B&B nestled in a beautiful community of thatch-roofed cottages, and run by Mary and Ben, who could not be more accommodating hosts. The room was well appointed, perfectly comfortable and perfect to come home to after a day of visiting or work. Breakfast was delicious, with many terrific choices for all appetites. They need hardly remind you that their breakfast is award winning, because you'd gladly give one after trying it. Both Ben and Mary were very helpful, giving you options for where to go for a bite to eat or drink, what to see, or where to go in the area for a bit of adventure. After moments of arriving, I felt right at home, glad to have arrived in such a nice place. I would strongly recommend it for business, pleasure, or just for a lovely weekend away with the missus.

Room Tip: Although pink in every detail, the Pink Room is quite comfortable

Dear Jay thank-you so much for writing this review, particularly so soon after your visit, we hope you trip was a success. It was lovely meeting you, and we would love to welcome you again, perhaps not on a work trip next time, but "a lovely week-end away with the Missus". Best wishes, Mary and Ben.

Lovely greeting by Mary and Ben.
Cottage was clean and a credit to the owners.
Mary showed us to the room, and we could not have wanted better.
They recommended a lovely pub restaurant, the George and Dragon in the village. Vine Cottage was homely and very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. We only stayed for one night but it was well worth it. We would recommend it to anyone who appreciates an excellent standard, and friendly hosts. The farm opposite was charming.

Room Tip: The pink room was lovely in a good position to the front of the cottage.

Another big thanks for writing this lovely review, particularly having done one already as sent out by the booking agents.

It was lovely meeting you both and we hope to see you again before too long.

A wonderful breakfast was enjoyed by all at Vine Cottage this morning. 9 of us descended for the first Sunday in February where Ben and Mary open up the b & b for breakfast (must book) For £10 (£7·50) of which is donated to the RNLI we enjoyed a hearty full English, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and toast were laid out for you to help yourself too. A big thumbs up from me and my partner.

I stayed at Vine Cottage in 2011 and was made to feel very welcome by Mary and Ben. I have stayed at many B&B's before and this one in my opinion is "5" star! I recently stayed at Vine Cottage again in Jan 2013 and was not disappointed. My room was decorated to a very high standard and Ben's mess is absolutely scrummy!!! Mary and Ben are perfect hosts!!

Room Tip: The Blue room is spacious and comfortable

I have been staying at vine cottage for the past few weeks, staying two nights a week while on business in Devizes, Being a lone female I have been made to feel extremely welcome and have enjoyed my stay.
This B&B is one of the best I have stayed at, great hosts, lovely rooms and fab breakfasts. Would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a great break away or needing a place to rest up after a busy day at work. I can recommend the sauna :)

we needed a local B&B for a wedding and were recommended Vine Cottage. apart from the rather scruffy approach to the house down a narrow lane, the house itself was nigh on perfect.

converted from 3 cottages some 5 years ago, there was easy parking, a warm welcome, double room, compact, but with every amenity you could wish for (except maybe fluffy bathrobes...only joking), a front door key. and highly efficient central heating.

the super, locally sourced breakfast is served from 8 'til 9.

I passed on Ben's Mess, a melange of fried porky things, which my beloved thought great. in fact, it defeated her, so I finished it off, having already had cereal, 2 eggs, black pudding and bacon.........it was a very good breakfast.

it's very green, eco etc, if that sort of thing is important.

all in all, highly recommended

Dear nykwilkyins, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and found almost everything you needed. Actually, in a drawer under the end of the bed you would have found the wrapped 2 fluffy white bathrobes alongside a spare blanket - honestly!

We do hope to see you again in the future, and thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review.

Vine Cottage rates as one of the best B&B's i've ever stayed at - and I've been to a few! Mary and Ben are such welcoming and friendly hosts. The accommodation is very homely and comfortable and the breakfasts - well, just excellent. As others have already said, Ben's Mess should not be missed. A lot of thought has gone into Vine Cottage and I just can't think of any negatives.

The village pubs serve good food. The George and Dragon is a gastropub, but the quality of food and service justifies the price. Oliver Cromwell in Bromham (1 mile) serves good pub grub.

Looks like Ben has sorted earlier reported Wifi problems as I had no issues.

Jim
