“Happily go back...”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

Enjoyed this restaurant with 3 others with beef, duck and prawn as mains. All were cooked superbly as is most important with meat. Entrees and desserts also delicious. Service was even better! Pleasant and happy. Atmosphere wasn't quite so upbeat but it's a country club, it's not going for the contemporary inner city dining experience. Wait was a tad long but worth it. Portions sizes good when you base it on quality. Probably not the place for a large group but certainly great for a couple or a few friends. Will go back.

“Beautiful setting, pity about the Restaurant!”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

My husband, three teenagers and I ate at Fifty-nine recently. We were part of a party of about 25 people. Most of the group were in some way dissatisfied with the meals. Many in our group felt their meals were very small for the price and some meals arrived cold. Several of us found our meals bland and nothing like the description in the menu. The most disappointing meal of all was my husband's which was the grilled barramundi. The serving was very small and was obviously fresh-water barra which is muddy and has no where near the flavour of salt-water barra. The dark meat had been left on as well which only contributed to the awful taste of this very ordinary piece of fish. When you are eating in a place that looks, sounds and costs up-market then you have the right to expect decent food that is well cooked and good quality. When our dissatisfaction was brought to the attention of the manager, she was dismissive and disinterested. Personally I think that the only reason people eat here is because of the great kids fun park and beautiful setting. The restaurant is NOT RECOMMENDED.
