“Golfing weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

Stayed for 3 days of golfing on a very challenging course, that had us rushing out at the break of dawn every morning trying to better our prev days scores. Accommodation was adequate, found the bed was rather uncomfortable. Congratulations on having such professional, friendly reception & bar staff, was such a pleasure to be greeted by friendly accommodating personnel.
However was shocked on the sat morning to be greeted by an older gentleman in the pro shop & I must say we were not "greeted" no polite good morning, rather a blank stare & a gruff exclamation of "Where is your voucher!!!" Please send him out to pasture & get the younger guys in they are so much nicer & have better personalities. My husband & I frequently travel inter-state to play golf & we have would like to visit your resort again, hopefully with other family members.

Room Tip: Apartment room was spacious, has all the essential equipment.

Stayed here for 4 nights in april, wonderful service from the check in staff, although when we arrived we were given arm bands for the kids to use the adventure playground and pools and playground. They also played mini golf on day 1 and 2 and then on day 3 we went to go and get mini golf clubs and was advised by a different receptionist that is was not apart of out "package" and tried to charge us $35 for us to play again. I mentioned it to the lady that we were playing every day and were given the same coloured armbands every day by reception staff, who i might add would ask what room we were staying in, and gave them to us each time, no questions asked or try to charge us extra, but this particular lady wasnt budging and insisted we pay extra for the mini golf, so i would just say to check what your "package" includes. Ate at the resturant and was lovely and very friendly service there. Kids facilities are great but the pools needed cleaning more regularly. Our particular apartments dryer didnt work real well, but overall good value for money.

This is a good family property located approx. 20 minutes north of Cairns and easily accessible from the highway.

Clifton and other beaches, as well as the Cairns Wildlife Park and a shopping centre are located within 10 minutes of the property.

Check in was smooth with no surprises and the front desk staff were generally pleasant.

The rooms possess adequate bedding but are starting to show signs of wear.

The kitchens have all the proper utensils but the resort does not supply any condiments beyond tea and coffee.

The property itself is well laid out and a safe place to for kids to run free.

The resort provides safe underground parking and the area was quiet at night.

The pools are a good size but could use a nightly cleaning.

The resort charges for room cleaning and internet is $25.00 per day.

We did not visit the golf course or eat at the on-site restaurant - no comment.

I would recommend this property for families.

Call the resort directly instead of booking on line, you will get a better rate.

I had previously stayed at the Paradise palms before embarking on a trail bike trip to Cape York and decided to return with the family.

Pros - Location, Layout, Ammenities.
The resort has a great design for families, with good playgrounds, great rooms layouts and modern design. Great location, just enough outside of Cairns to feel away from it all, but close enough to still enjoy everything Cairns has to offer.

Cons - Run down, cleanliness wasnt the best in the bathrooms and pools etc, general wear and tear was needing attention. There was multiple items missing from the rooms (we changed rooms) such as TV remote, cutlery, and cooking items. Noise was the main issue, we requested to change rooms to the top floor due to the noise coming through from the other rooms (chairs dragging etc) but it didnt make much difference.

This resort could be fantastic, but due to the state of repair, the noise and the general cleanliness and dissaray ( our bill was all messed up also) it is only average. Would love to rate it higher as it has the potential, but just doesnt cut it in such a competitive area.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floor and request to look out over the pool area.

Okay, so if you plan on checking in after 11pm (or before 7am), CALL them before and verify how you will get in because reception closes at 11pm. The rooms are very nice, the furniture is beautiful, the staff was great (I don't know why others have complained), but it is far from Cairns and I'd suggest renting a car. It's not a terrible cab ride from Palm Cove, and you can catch a public bus, but you have to flag them down because the bus stop is a long walk away. If you aren't used to driving on "the other side" of the road, don't worry, the Cairns area is not too bad for breaking yourself into the concept, the traffic isn't bad.
The Country Club has a breakfast buffet for $20, a good spread of food, but not cheap, not sure about lunch or dinner prices. We didn't try the pool or any other services, but yeah, if you stay here, just rent a car to fully enjoy your stay. Oh, and the internet is for a fee, but that seems to be the norm throughout Australia, they don't have wi-fi.

Room Tip: Hire/Rent a Car when you stay here to fully enjoy the location.

Stayed here for 9 nights over the Xmas period. If you don,t mind a 20 mins drive into city of cairns, fabulous accommodation. Only paid 104-00 per night for an unserviced double room. 2 swimming pools , restaurant and surrounded by a beautiful golf course.

We staying there for four nights.... Great pool and playground, the staff are rude and have no interest in helping or speaking to you... The only food available is overpriced and no good for family or couples for that matter...
