“We enjoyed our stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

We purchased a Holiday Deal through Cudo for 4 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment. Our friends who have 3 young children (ages 6mths to 8yrs) also purchased the same deal. The deal included 2 games of golf each day (inc golf buggy) and several rounds of Putt-Putt Golf.

Upon arrival we received a friendly welcome and check in was a smooth process. The apartment overlooked one of the pools and also in the distant the golf course, the main pool, playground area and Putt-Putt Golf. The rooms themselves were very modern and well presented. The kitchen itself catered for all your cooking requirements.

The complex is family friendly with a massive playground area and pool well designed for all kids’ ages. The kids enjoyed a few rounds of Putt Putt golf and jumping on the massive jumping pillow. The main pool with the playground is open to the public however the hotel pool is only available to the hotel patrons.

The boys played golf every day however due to the constant rains they were restricted as to where they could drive the golf buggy (which was fair enough). Overall they enjoyed the course – some tough holes but always a challenge.

We didn’t experience a meal in the restaurant as we cooked our meals each night within our apartment (self contained), but the menu looked reasonable. We did have a few drinks after we arrived at the bar and sat and overlooked the golf course and watched the rain. The drinks were a tad steep so we ended up purchasing our own beverages and drunk them on our balconies which was also enjoyable on a hot barmy night.

There isn’t much around the place that is walking distance. Any attractions, the beach or even your local supermarket you will require transportation, unless you’re happy to walk a couple of hours there and back. We were fine with walking however the humidity got to us at the end. We ended up hiring a car after the first day which allowed us to explore more on our own. We did on the first day walk to the beach however was restricted with where you could swim due to the jelly fish. There are areas which contain nets that you can swim within but they are few and far between.

Being in March we did experience rain several days but it was hot rain and the humidity was high. The locals and businesses all seem laid back and relaxed. Nothing seems to bother them.

If we were trying to find faults with the complex it would be some the gardens and ponds around the golf course. The main walk ways leading around the complex is fine and always well up-kept, however noticed the ponds looking out from the bar towards the golf course and especially putt putt golf contained a lot of loose rubbish and old looking foliage.

Overall both us and the other family enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone especially with a family or even a fanatic golfer.

We spent four nights here while attending a conference in a one bedroom apartment that was spacious clean and very well appointed. A large balcony over looking one of the pools and the garden area. The furnishings are a bit dated but still comfortable. The resort has a lot of activities for children. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Undercover parking. Not sure if they have the shuttle bus as advertised on their web page. We found it good value for the money. If we returned we would ask for a room on the top floor as we found the noise from the apartment upstairs a bit annoying. The "fitness" centre was a one of the rooms that had a treadmill, bike and cross trainer , definitely an afterthought.

Room Tip: Highest floor looking out over the pool/garden area.

We are staying here right now, on a deal, as most do, and are being treated like second class citizens. They are penny pinchers and will do nothing outside the absolute minimum. We have purchased 3 x 4 night stays and paid extra for a 2 bedroom, including golf each day, of the 24 rounds of golf we are entitled to, my husband has used only 4 (we leave in 2 days so may be one or 2 more) and they will not trade any of the rounds of golf for a bucket of balls for teh driving range, though we could take a cart out for a whole day which costs them loads more than a bucket of balls. Hes purchased some professional lessons here and would have been good for him to practice his new found skills as the instructor advised him.
Secondly, they will not service the room, despite the fact we could have checked out and in again halfway and it would have been cleaned, which we should have done had we have known. We cant even get any extra or clean towels, everything here is the absolute minimum.
By the time weve paid for an upgraded 2 bedroom, we have paid the same as we normally do to stay at other places with heated pools (this one is freezing and we havent been able to use it..... torture for our poor kids but even they say its too cold), a mid week service, heaps of towels, and sometimes even breakfast (ie hibiscus at port douglas or the regal), I would shop around before staying here. We certainly wont be back! Funny thing is, all my wishes would cost them next to nothing, I'd then be happy and we'd come again. They will not budge and as everyone else says, they are just penny pinchers.
Restaurant food is very average, though the staff are good.
Walls are paper thin as others have said also and we found it difficult to get a proper rest with all the noise.

Though it's impossible to give a good breakdown on the amenities as only there overnight, it was comfortable (if uninspiring) accommodation as only in a resort room overlooking the carpark (you get what you pay for so no complaints). All amenities supplied so quite ok and would stay here again.

Dinner and breakfast at Restaurant 59 were both great, and we just loved the golf course.

Staff very friendly, we chalked it up as a good experience for the golfing occasion it was, but quite noisy from other guests so would not contemplate as a relaxing getaway.

We bought a Scoopn voucher offering 4 night stay in a one bedroom apartment and we were impressed.

The apartment was a good size apartment with good kitchen facility. We had our breakfast or afternoon drinks on the balcony which overlooks gardens / bushland. The resort offers a great playground, mini golf and two pools.

We are not golfers and didn't use our golf vouchers. We planned to play a game of mini golf and as there are so many things to do around Cairns, we didn't get the chance to play mini golf! There is a restaurant on-site and Trinity Beach is not far from the resort and there are some beach front restaurants there.

This resort is a great place for families!

Three girlfriends and I have just returned from a 5 night break at this lovely resort. Because we
were travelling from interstate, I notified Reception that we would not be there until late afternoon. The lights and fans were on in our apartment, waiting for us! We booked through
Sunseeker, so got it at a very reasonable price. We had a 2 br s/c apartment, which had just
everything we needed. It had a modern kitchen, huge living area, with dining table and couches, plus another table out on the balcony. They have fans, air conditioning in all rooms, plus shutters on the bedroom windows to let in the cool breezes at night. The grounds were beautiful, the dining room great... The only thing it is about 20 kms north of Cairns, so a hire car is a must, if you are flying in.. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful resort.

If you love golf, you will love this beautiful resort and course. Great for families with lots of child friendly activities. Apartments all have excellent facilities for cooking, although restaurant 59 is also worth a visit with its delightful outlook over the golf course. Highly recommend this resort.
