We really enjoyed our stay here in the honey loft suite. Great location across from the beach. The owners immediately invited us to the neighborhood drinks the afternoon of our arrival! Very nice to meet everybody.
Also the room was superclean!

Room tip: Superview from the Honey Loft

Beware .....the driveway from the road to the "Ohiwa Seascape Studios "is both windy and steep.!!

However, without such an ascent, you would be deprived of the glorious seascape vista that awaits you. Nestled amongst an array of Pohutakawa trees, ferns, and tropical flax one hundred metres above the crashing surf, the three studios peer through the forest canopy, to the azure waters of the Bay of Plenty.

Oh wow, "Mrs C " and i went, as we gazed in amazement, could it get any better?......it did.

Our studio the "West Studio" was modern, spacious, and fully equipped including a two person spa and kitchenette. Everything that you needed was catered for, we soon realised that our gracious hosts Karen & Stephan new the hospitality game inside -out, thoughtful touches abounded, complimentary chocolates, romantic lighting, freshly laid eggs from "the girls" four red island rhode chooks who roam the property each day, even a large wax candle and lighter can be found next to the spa, to enhance that special moment with your loved one.

Even if you are not the slightest bit of a romantic, you cannot help but be moved by what has been created here, the list goes on, all white sheets and bed linen, full sized fridge/freezer, freshly picked flowers, outdoor lawn and deck area and wonderful original artwork painted by host Stephan.

It is so good to stay in accommodation that nutures you and pampers you, and does it in style, congratulations Karen & Stephan you are on a winner.

Room tip: There are stairs and a steep driveway, difficult for the aged or infirm.

We stayed in the East Suite. Lovley proportioned studio room. Very clean and tidy and peaceful. All facilities worked well. Within 100 yards of the beach for lovely long stroll. Also worth doing the walk to local pa.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and very glad you enjoyed your stay. Onekawa Te Mawhai is a great walk especially on a nice sunny day for amazing views over Ohiwa Harbour and out to the Pacific Ocean.

We had a nights stay in the top unit. We were met by the friendly owner as we drove up the very steep drive. It’s a bit scary if you don’t know where you’re going but there is enough room on the property to park and the owner was quick to tell us where we could park It would be a bit hard for someone not stable on their feet getting from the car to the unit but at night it is well lit. The unit is very clean, well appointed with a very nice vaulted ceiling. Even chocolates on the table for us on arrival. We were a bit surprised that to use the bathroom you had to go outside and across a covered way. Could be very cold going out at night if you had too. The bathroom has heated flooring and towel rail. Hairdryer provided too which was nice. The bed was comfortable and a few pillows of different softness gave you a choice. The night we were there was very cold and when we got in late we found we needed extra blankets which weren’t provided and there was no electric blanket on the bed. There is a good fan heater in the room. The room has good decking and we had breakfast outside looking through the native trees to the sea across the road. It’s a nice beach and in summer it would be a great place.

Thanks for your review, glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry you found it a bit chilly. I would have hoped the gas heater in the room would keep things cosy enough but will consider providing extra blankets for the cooler months of the year.
Breakfast on the deck with the birds and sea is a lovely way to start the day.

Absolutely gorgeous stay we had 2 nights here and loved it, had the spa room with a kitchenette comfortable bed beautifully designed room. Would love to have stayed in the summertime would be amazing the beach is just across the road. So quite just beautiful. Owner was lovely and very accommodating. It is a 11km from Opitiki town and nothing much to do but relax so perfect get away for a romantic weekend. Very clean, free parking property is slightly steep but was fine with us. Thankyou seascape studio!

It was great to host overseas guests exploring in the Wintertime. We're glad you enjoyed it. It's certainly a very peaceful time of year. We do get the occasional brilliant sunny winter weather.
