I have been coming here for years as my parents live here. The food is always good (look around at how many locals are eating here) and good value for money. The local house wine, bought by carafe is also very good and I wouldn't bother with 'bottled' wine which will have more sulphites and will give you more of a sore head in the heat! The restaurant has a lively, buzzing and very local feel to it - if you want something a bit more elegant try the sister restaurant next door, but I think it's a shame to sit in an air conditioned room when you can enjoy al fresco dining here! Or the Art nouveau just along the road - but this is a completely different dining experience. Try the mussels al'egiziana and linguini alle vongole if you like seafood - both divine. The Pergola is relaxed, informal and you will be visiting more than once!

We didn't want to have a fancy elegant lunch and this fit the bill perfectly. We shared a fritto misto and a plate of linguini with Vongole - both with super fresh seafood and well seasoned. We did not have wine, we were driving so stuck with water and soft drinks. A lovely interlude in a charming little town. It was busy so service was slower than we're used to for Italy but the weather was lovely so it wasn't a big deal.

I am in heaven after eating at La Pergola. We were 4 adults and 4 children. We ordered the Cleopatra platter for six of us. On the waiter's advice two Cleopatras were ample for 6 of us. He was right. This platter is the most amazing mountain of delicious, fresh seafood resting on superb linguini, so by the time you have fought your way through the delicacies on top, all the sauces and juices have permeated down into the pasta. A Cleopatra platter cost €50 in August 2013, but really does feed at least three amply.

Judging by the number of people who ordered pizzas (also to take away), they must be good too. The only reason for not giving five stars is that the interior of the restaurant with its neo-Grecian decor is terribly lit by white neon; you really should make sure you get a table in the courtyard at the back. I will happily reurn to La Pergola.

A little confusing since Bar La Pergola, Restaurant La pergola and Restaurant La Pergolina are next to one another. The restaurant does not have seating facing the sea at the front, but a large enclosed courtyard at the back.it ha st he cheapest pizzas in town. I enjoyed the veal. The risotto pescatore was disappointing : the variety of seafood was limited and it was not made with risotto rice. The polio pool petite - octopus meatballs was very good and a very filling starter.

A lovely restaurant on the seafront at Santa Maria al Bagno. Well-priced, with relaxed, helpful service. Have had very good cozze and vongole there, but most delicious dish was pasta cooked with sepia ink, shrimps and almonds. Not quite as good as the more expensive and elegant Art Nouveau along the raod, but a bit cheaper and perfect for a beachside lunch.
