Description: Zeerovers is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen's town of Savaneta. Here we serve fresh fried fish and shrimps with side orders of fried plantain, french fries, pan bati(local version of cornbread), onions in vinegar and tartarsauce. Everything is served to you in a basket as you sit on the dock overlooking the water as fishermen bring in their catch which in fact could have been your meal if you came a few hours later. That said, this is not a place for fancy dining but rather a place where you are welcomed to kick back, relax and get your hands dirty.

Go there only if you want to visit a casual local place and ready to eat with your hands. Fresh fish with an exceptional view. Food is delicious! It gets packed so you have to be patient and only accept cash.

Okay...We travel plenty and we always look for and ask for places where the local people eat.
And, we have found many places in the past before I started using Tripadvisor for feedback from other travelers. But I HAVE to be very honest this time to save others from what we experienced.

Here it goes...I don't know how many people we asked but all said Zeerovers was the best for a local eatery. Well we went there and when we ordered, the fish was in and ice chest and so was the shrimp, not iced down. For all four of us it went into one basket to be deep fried and one basket out on the table.Heads on and shell on.
The eating area is a large open area open to the sea, smells very fishy, flies everywhere, and very hot no fans no A/C, no one to wait on you. The place to rinse off is a small little spigot to the side of the waiting area. We were all looking for a good dinner after going around the Island, but were totally disappointed. SORRY Zeerover I just cannot do any better than this.

If this is not your kind of place don't try it. Leave it for the Local crowd.

Definitely a place you need to try at least once. Food is fresh each morning, but if you are one who doesnt like to work for your food you might not like it. You get your shrimp fried head and all and you have to peel and devien it. Tastie however.

Zeerovers is where the locals in Aruba get their fix of fresh fish and shrimp. The day we were there we watched them weighing in the catch. You can't get it any fresher. No breading, just deep fried and dusted with a little seasoning. Nothing fancy and you are right on the water. You pick out what you want from the catch of the day, they weigh it out and give you a block to put on your table. You go to the next window for beverages. Pretty simple. The have Funchi and plantains also. Definitely worth the trip.
