Description: Zeerovers is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen's town of Savaneta. Here we serve fresh fried fish and shrimps with side orders of fried plantain, french fries, pan bati(local version of cornbread), onions in vinegar and tartarsauce. Everything is served to you in a basket as you sit on the dock overlooking the water as fishermen bring in their catch which in fact could have been your meal if you came a few hours later. That said, this is not a place for fancy dining but rather a place where you are welcomed to kick back, relax and get your hands dirty.

our driver that we hired to drive us around the island for the day took us there....wanted to go to where the locals eat. I don't eat seafood but it was still a great place...sat at the tables on the end of the dock and enjoyed the breeze, food and beer. For 3 of us with beer and enough seafood to feed 5 it was approx $30....pretty cheap eats and the seafood couldn't get any fresher...we watched a fellow bringing in what he had just caught while we were eating our lunch. Your bill is based on weight, so it's only as expensive as your appetite.

I agree with other reviewers : we absolutely loved the experience eating in this local tavern; however! all the food is deep fried and very salty. If the owners had a grilled option for thier dishes it would be much healthier and tastier. We ate there, of course, we loved it , but can't do it every day.

Zeerover is mostly local, but worthy to take in if you are into the remote local atmosphere. Food is fried, very tasty, over looking the waters, an expensive cab ride unless you have a rental.
The shrimp was super, you have to clean it, but mouth watering.

Having been raised on the water eating the freshest seafood on earth, I still want it this way, with heads on! Zeerover fulfilled my hunger. Lunch or dinner, the fish and shrimp will always be consistently fresh and cooked to perfections. It's a fact that Aruba is the happy island, and this is a happy and friendly place. When I looked a little disappointed that they didn't have Red Snapper on the menu one evening, the lady owner smiled and asked me to wait a minute. She then opened this cooler and offered me one of her special Red Snappers she was saving for herself! What a service!!! $15 per person will fill you up and keep you smiling till the next time you visit.
Wish they would start offering this delicious menu grilled in addition to fried.
