Wonderful pre-Christmas stay in Weavers Cottage. The oroperty is truly beautiful - fabulous kitchen, bathroom and surrounding gardens. We loved the romantic and cosy feel of the sitting room and dining room too.
The village of Bonsall is a real find. It's completely unspoiled, very pretty abc has two great pubs with food and a village shop/delicatessen. It's a great spot to walk from or to travel around Derbyshire as we did.
The host, Jonathan, was charming and very helpful. We can't wait to come again..,
We stayed in this cottage with our two teenage boys. We loved this house, it is deceivingly big with a very unusual uphill garden which is great to explore. The bathroom and kitchen were wonderful and everywhere was clean. The bath is big enough for two, so it was nice to be able to have a bath with my hubby for a change! There is one car parking space across the road, this was useful as my husband adores his car and likes to keep a check on it, he even washed it whilst we were there. Wi-fi was a little weak downstairs so our sons sat right next to the router in the upstairs play area, so we hardly saw them when we were in the cottage, but that was no problem. There is a nice playing field within walking distance but not anything much else to do unless you take the car out. Just to mention but watch your shins whilst walking around the wooden bed in the double bedroom, both my hubby and i sported wonderful bruises after banging our legs. We ended up placing pillows over the corners of the bed!! We should have been more careful, anyway it was a great stay and easy to book.

Well equipped, clean, good location to explore and friendly neighbours. Kids will appreciate the x box and various toys, games etc. Great quirky place to stay.
Spent 5 nights here with our two young sons (age 2 and 5). Kids loved it - they loved the toys in the 'playroom' and they loved the house generally (the window seat in the dining area was a favourite). We had to keep an eye on the 2 year old in the garden as it is steep, but he finds trouble so we keep an eye on him anyway!
We loved the house too. It felt like a home away from home and we were very comfortable.
Jonathan (owner) was very helpful and quick to respond to queries before we arrived. The gent who lives next door to the cottage was also very friendly and helpful - he gave us directions around local roadworks and also suggested places for us to go to.
We spent most of our stay outside the cottage (visiting Chatworth house & a friend's wedding), but the cottage itself was a great place to come back to each evening. A lovely cosy lounge & bedrooms, amazing bathroom (free standing bath + fancy shower!), and a play room with a balcony that our little boy absolutely loved. There was a skylight window in one of the bedrooms without a working blind/cover, which we had to work around, but the owner told us it would be dealt with soon. I suggest checking that has been done if you are intending to use both bedrooms during summer months when it gets light early in the mornings.
The cottage has a lovely garden too up the hillside behind with views and steep paths to explore through the undergrowth which we didn't have time to use.

We had a very relaxing stay in the quirky, comfortable and very well equiped cottage. The shower and bath are amazing and the owners have thought of everything to make any couple or family have an enjoyable stay.
Stayed at Weavers Cottage with my husband for a week. Our adult son joined us for 3 nights. The property is an old cottage in the village of Bonsall. We found it rather dark but should perhaps have expected that from its size & location in a valley & with hill behind. Cottage clean & warm. Well equipped kitchen. Dining area small & cramped. Although cottage can sleep 5 it would have been very squashed if 5 of us were seated. Both village pubs were good as was local tea rooms.
