We returned to the Bonsall to meet up with friends and again chose to go to the pig of lead.
Julie met us with a smile as before and showed us to the same rooms we had before, which are lovely rooms. If I had to look for faults in this lovely B&B it would have to be that the bedroom lighting in the room we had is not as bright as one might hope, but if that is the worst we can find, then it shows how good it is. A great sitting area with a coal fire and leather seating makes for a cosy area for people to chat and Julie was kind enough to provide us with drinks rather than having to bring them from our rooms. A good breakfast in the morning sets you up for the day and you get that here. Just for good measure, if you go to the Barley Mow pub and let them know you are staying at the Pig of Lead, you get discount.

Room Tip: I get the feeling they are all good.

Stayed here for 2 nights and the service was excellent. JULIE is a talker but is very helpful and her service is fab, even dropped us off at the local pub to eat. The room we had was very clean, only one thing missing was a fridge in the room to chill the wine, she will even shop for you. Would recommend this b&b and would stay there again. THANKS JULIE & JOHN.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights last weekend as a last minute mini-break. After driving for over two hours, we received a very warm welcome from Julie who was consistently accommodating and friendly.
The room was lovely, spacious with an en suite too and a huuuuuge flat screen TV.
The BnB is right on the border of the peak district so there are hundreds of possible walking route - just outside is a footpath leading up through a woods and across the top of the hills, plus there is a stream and mini waterfalls everywhere too.
It is close enough to Cramford, Matlock, Bakwell.. so there is loads to do.
The breakfast was excellent too - Julie cooked whatever we wanted and provided endless coffee and orange juice too!

Overall, we were really impressed! Great hospitality, gorgeous room and very cosy lounge area downstairs too. Beautiful location.

Room Tip: All rooms look spacious - we had the super king which is super comfy!

This is a lovely B and B with a very welcoming host. Our room on the 2nd floor was spacious, had a massive comfy bed, and a bathroom with a shower and bath. The breakfast was really tasty with good quality ingredients cooked well. Our host went the extra mile, by giving us a free lift to the local pub (which was also fantastic - the Barley Mow). We will definitely return!!

The Pig of Lead was a good choice for a stay in the Peak District. Our host was friendly and welcoming and shared useful insights about the area. Breakfast was included in the price and our needs catered for. The rooms were cosy and clean though would have preferred a bath, especially after a wet and windy autumn day cycling along the Monsal Trail! I would say that the location isn't ideal as you would need a car but there may be public transport options that we weren't aware of. There is parking at the inn but in the main towns and villages it is frustratingly expensive and you would have to drive to these towns for restaurants, tourist information, shops, etc., especially on a dark winter evening.

Thanks to Julie and Johns outstanding customer service we had a fantastic stay at the great value and very well equipped B&B in Bonsall. A huge bed and very well equipped room with free wifi and a fantastic bathroom meant an excellent rest on our stay. Breakfast was sourced from Wrights Farm shop and an award winning slice of fantastic Black Pudding all cooked to order. There is plenty to keep you busy in the area and great recommendations from the hosts on places to eat and explore without looking a guide book.

Room Tip: High floors - no noise great sleep
