“Best! Bed and Breakfast! Ever!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2010

During the last breakfast of our 4-day stay, I couldn't help blurting out "Thank you, Lord, for sending us to THIS Bed and Breakfast." Terry and Robbie have created a gorgeous home that allows for as much privacy or social mingling as you desire. It is brilliantly designed so that each guest bedroom (and they're ALL beautiful) has a private deck area with chairs and a table, but the wrap-around veranda also allows you to easily move to the common areas to sit and chat with whoever is there. I absolutely loved getting up at 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning, sipping my coffee while ensconced in an Adirondack chair, watching the sunlight move slowly down the western ridge of the Okanagan towards Oyama and the still waters of the Wood and Kalamalka Lakes, while in the pasture below the deer were jumping and playing. In the cool of the evening, after the sun had gone down behind that same ridge, we would sit with wine glasses in hand, enjoying the absence of mosquitoes, and watch as Venus slowly set behind Terrace Mountain.

All the other reviewers have mentioned the fabulous breakfasts, rooms, beds, and amenities, and we echo their praises. Terry and Robbie have created a truly spa-like facility that made it so easy for us to relax and enjoy our stay. On one of our four days there, instead of site-seeing at Vernon (twenty minutes North) or Kelowna (twenty-five minutes South), we just stayed on the property, reading by the pool, going in for a dip when we got too hot, having a nap in our nicely-air-conditioned room, and snacking on the meals we had pre-purchased and stored in their guest fridge. The communal breakfasts on the veranda were delightful, as we got to know the other guests and heard their stories.

We HIGHLY recommend Country Ridge Ranch House to anyone seeking quality in a Bed and Breakfast, even though we know this will make it harder for us to make a reservation the next time we're in the area. Thank you, Terry and Robbie, for a wonderful stay, and we hope to see you again!

We thought everything was perfect about Country Ridge B&B. The food was to die for, the views were spectacular, the rooms were comfy and beautifully decorated, we were well cared for by Robby and Terry. We felt right at home, and loved talking with our hosts and the other guests for that day. We stayed 4 nights but would have loved to stay longer.

I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness of the design and the effort exerted in building the guest house and making it work. It is gratifying to see that our hosts have built and are now living their dream.

This was my first stay at a bed and breakfast and the bar is now set extremely high for all future comparisons.
The short drive from the main highway takes you to a stunning property with a beautiful view of the valley lakes. The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly and showed me all of the home's many amenities upon my arrival. I travel a lot and the quiet, soundless night's sleep was a very welcome change from the noises usually encountered with hotel stays. Besides, you never get a breakfast at a hotel like you will have at the Country Ranch! I would absolutely recommend this property!!

We stayed at Country Ridge after reviewing the many positive post on this site. How could we have known that the views were breathtaking, the rooms were very well cared for, but most of all the hospitality we received from Terry and Robby was terrific. It's like you traveled to a place and met old friends.
More about the place:
The inn sits on top of a hill, overlooking Lake Oyama. The kitchen, living room and television area open into a large spiral staircase. There rooms have views from the deck, and what a view! There is a wrap-around porch with Adirondack chairs to sit outside and sip the Okanagan wine you purchased on your travels to the nearby wineries ( don't miss Grey Monk winery, nearby) Oh- the two dogs just complete the package.
We definitely recommend Country Ridge if your plans take you to the Okanagan Valley.

3 friends and myself spent a little getaway up at the Country Ridge Ranch House this month. It was so perfect. In the evening we visited out on the wrap around deck drinking glasses of wine and also letting our eyes drink in the most spectacular view. Our beds were so comfy and the bedding also special because the quilts in the house are all hand made by Robby. The morning was lovely too as Terry and Robby had been up early and the coffee was on, and the weather perfect. I took a ton of photos of Robby's flower garden, and then we enjoyed a breakfast that I'll never forget. It was so delicious (homemade scones, fruit parfait, salsa eggs.. fresh squeezed oranges). Just a delightful time and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

I have just experienced a wonderful stay with friends at the Country Ridge B & B in Oyama BC. It is located on a hillside with fabulous views of orchards sloping down to two beautiful lakes. Our hosts,Robby and Terry Tranfield gave us such a friendly welcome. In the evening we sat out on the wrap around decks and watched the sun go down behind the hills on the far side of the lake. Every room has individual access to the deck. The rooms are exceptionally well appointed--very comfy bed, big easy chair, welcome baskets with wine and snacks, fluffy robes and handy slippers. The original art work on the walls is outstanding. And when I curled up in bed, it was under a beautiful quilt hand made by Robby! The bathroom was so thoughtfully designed and equipped with hand made soaps, lotions, hair dryer. It was so quiet and peaceful all night that I had the best sleep I've had in a long time.

The breakfast in the morning was an absolute delight. Terry and Robby make an excellent team. Terry made a pitcher of freshly squeezed orange juice, while Robby produced the tastiest scones from the oven. Breakfast was served out on the deck overlooking the awesome view. It's not unusual to spot deer playing in the field below the deck, and the bird song was great breakfast music . Along with the juice and hot scones we were served a delicious parfait with many kinds of fruit--raspberries and strawberries fresh from their garden--followed by delicious scrambled eggs on an English muffin with salsa and cheese.Yummy!

Robby and Terry are such thoughtful hosts, with a depth of knowledge of the surrounding area and the attractions and recreational activities available. They have great stories of the area, and are just plain fun to be with!

This is a perfect spot to be one's "home away from home" and from which to explore the beautiful Okanagan Valley. I highly recommend it.
