“Worth every penny..I may owe them some money...Beautiful!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

So the pics looked amazing..hence why we booked our "second honeymoon" at Battaleys Mews but we both were still in awe upon arrival. The place was built in 2006 and they spared no expense...marble floor....new kitchen appliances..large masterbedroom and bath...there were 3 baths total and 3 bedrooms but we only had access to one bedroom. The place was spotless and the maid service was overkill but welcomed. The ac upstairs was remote controlled and perfect...downstairs is not air-conditioned but tolerable since we didnt lounge around all day. By nightfall it cooled so ac wasnt missed downstairs. The tv was a bit small and provided an assortment of basic cable channels. The outside sitting area had a soaking tub...where we thoroughly enjoyed listening to the tree frogs and sipping rum punch...but missed the soaking tub experience..perhaps due to water temp being a little cool. The community itself is gated with a service desk/concierge, bar and pool area. Security was present and made rounds regularly. Battaleys was minutes away from Mullins Beach, Holetown, Speightstown and Paynes bay..If you are driving. On the first night we went grocery shopping at the Supercentre in Holetown..they had everything we needed and then some. Overall we would go back in a heartbeat and perhaps bring some friends.
PROS
Beautiful and spacious accomodations
AC upstairs Master Bedroom
Huge Masterbath
Full Kitchen with basic cookware and utensils
Privacy
Sitting area in back with soaking tub
The Bajan $ coupon book, (paid for an excursion ask for it as soon as possible)
CONS
Car essential (in our opinion)
Lack of ac downstairs...not sure about the other bedrooms
No TV or WIFI upstairs
Lack of Room Darkening Shades in bedroom.
RECS
Bring eye covers if you sleep late
Bring or purchase spices
Bring alarm clock or app
Rent a car...

Battaleys Mews is a modern development of town houses, located 5 minutes walk from Mullins Beach (which is surely one of the best on the island), and a short car journey north of Holetown, depending on the traffic.

We enjoyed a 2 week stay here in October. The pictures on the website give a very good representation of what you get. The accommodation offered plenty of living space, and was tastefully furnished. There's a nice fully fitted kitchen, a dinning table with seating for eight, and a large rattan sofa and chairs in the living room. The master bed was comfortable, although the bedrooms could all benefit from either full shutters or black out blinds, as it gets light very early. The private plunge pool was also an added bonus after a long day at the beach!

The pool area is pleasant, and was quiet during our stay. The is also a small bar which also provides nice food at reasonable prices (but is shut on Monday & Tuesday). Ian, the barman was very friendly, and loves to talk about football at every opportunity! Freda, the onsite Supervisor was always really friendly and helpful, and sorted a couple of issues for us. The AC unit didn't work in the second bedroom, and unfortunately that took 3 days to get resolved, as it happened over a weekend. Likewise our washing machine had a problem too, but thankfully Freda offered to wash and dry our clothes instead.

The Housekeeping service was excellent, with weekday cleaning, plus regular towel and bed linen changes.

Overall I can definitely recommend Battaleys Mews for a relaxing break, especially for families. As others have said, a car is well worth hiring to get around, although the local buses are also pretty convenient. In walking distance there are a couple of decent places to eat, at Mullins Beach Bar and Bombas. There is also a small Chinese restaurant nearby, which also offers takeaway food. In Holetown, there is a much wider choice of restaurants and shops too.

Just one slight criticism - The gardener had a habit of doing work early on our property and those surrounding it, sometimes from 7am, which I'm sure could be avoided.

Spacious, clean, well equipped, with its own jacuzzi and a lovely communal pool with bar. A tasty snack menu with delivery to your villa. Tennis court for a floodlit game and a short distance from beautiful Mullins beach. Good service all round.

We stayed here on the second leg of our honeymoon after staying in Vegas for 4 nights. Battaleys Mews was simply amazing, they were pure luxury and all for an unbelievable price. This is the first time we have been to Barbados and whilst you could not wish for anything more from the accommodation, Barbados itself is one of the most expensive destinations I have ever been to. Eating out at restaurants was very expensive, or at least it was to us - your average tourist. The only thing I would advise if you are staying at Battaleys is to rent a car from beginning to end as it is a relatively remote location and without our rental car the holiday would have been a disaster.

Just arrived back from a 12 night stay at Battaleys Mews, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bar tender Ian was also very helpful and friendly. The houses are beautiful and well equipped, although we purchased a few bits and bobs for the kitchen i.e. mugs, 2nd chopping board and colander. We were quite surprised that houses were cleaned Monday-Friday and beds and towels changed regularly, we thought house keeping just came in to do a light clean. I wished the king room had black out linings or shutters, the room was really light from just after 6. The only major downside is that there is only air con in the bedrooms and the downstairs was stiffinglingly hot despite ceiling fans, we literally melted. We didn't like to sit out too much in the evening as mosquitoes were virulent, we bought every deterrent known to mankind in the supermarket and near the end of the holiday seemed to have things under control, we think they liked to hide in the rattan sofas and chairs, so we sprayed the lounge with insecticide on leaving the house daily and bought a smoker and incense sticks and this seemed to work.

Room Tip: We had number 12 which backed onto private Bajan houses, one Saturday night they left their garden f...

This is great serviced accommodation and in a good location just a short walk from the beach. The private plunge pool is great - perfect for a cool down at the end of a hot day.
The rooms are spacious with air conditioning in the bedrooms and there is a kitchen available if you are inclined to self cater. For me the kitchen has been more of a convenience for chilling drinks and washing up the odd glass, as there are plenty of good places to eat nearby!
I would recommend a hire car as some good restaurants are a little further away.
This is an ideal venue for a base for a family holiday and particularly if, like us, you have a teenager in tow. They even get their own bathroom!
Superb value for very comfortable accommodation and very highly recommended!
