The kids wanted to spend a weekend together and we checked into Manas Resort. Fortunately, they allowed us an early check in, and we found the rooms adequate. Although located in the basement, these new rooms had a small sit out and an open passage, all looking out at the valley below. But the view was spoiled due to construction going on in the resort. There is no room service and only one functional restaurant, where we had our lunch. The beer was chilled - limited choice, though, but the food - starters and the main course - all were awful. Oily, and tasted the same. The small infinity pool is actually small and the other pool was not functioning. Carom boards, a pool table and table tennis is available. The rains and clouds in the morning did make it look nice, but it wasn't spectacular. Will not visit again and maybe, not recommend it to any friends. As mentioned, it IS over hyped.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the valley view.

I had booked two Valley apartments, one of which had a Good valley view and other had a construction site view (facing towards NH3). Staff was courteous and helped as much as possible. Rooms were good and clean. Buffet food was good although a bit expensive. Overall resort ambience, sulptures are good. The resort is family friendly . I did not like the paintings in the Ala-carte restaurant. I wish the resort is not friendly for wheel chair based people. Swimming pool is nice with floats for kids and a lifeguard but a few people end up in their own clothes instead of swim suits.

Room Tip: If you are choosing an apartment, please re-confirm if this is valley facing and on ground floor or...

Manas Resorts, the original among the 2 Manas hotels, is located on a very scenic spot - right at the top of the Kasara Ghat (2 -2.5 hrs drive from Mumbai). It's an ideal getaway resort which can be reached within the shortest time from Mumbai. Away from the din and noise of any typical commercial tourist destination, this resort is actually set in a very quiet location. The resort is a nice mix of tastefully done up decor as well as a well-preserved natural environment. The highlight of the place is the service. The staff is very courteous and the service is prompt. Among the facilities, the dual swimming pool is a big hit. There is one for adults and one for kids with a waterfall. There are certain valley facing rooms that really a treat to check into once the rains settle in. You will feel there is fog right inside the bedroom:).
Touristy things around the hotel within an hour to hour and a half drive are - Bhandardara Dam(1 hr), Sula Vineyards (1 -1.5 hrs), Vipassana Meditation Pagoda (15 mins), Bhatsa Lake (1 hr) , Trimbakeshwar Temple (1 hr) and Nasik( 1hr)
But the most recommended thing to do is to just unwind within the resort!
Best season to visit - Mid June to September (monsoon). But you wont be disappointed in any season!

Room Tip: You should ask for the valley facing apartment rooms and that too on the higher floor. The view and...

Been there the last weekend with wife and daughter ( 3 adults ). Stayed at the Royal Villa. Expensive , but worth it. Nice spacious rooms. Courteous staff . Nice landscape. Beautiful garden to relax. Food could have been slightly better.

Room Tip: Valley villa is ideal for 2 couples to share. Valley apartments may be economical but not so good. R...

I stayed in one of the Royal Villas with my family (wife + 2 kids). Paid approx Rs.18000/- all meals inclusive for 2 nights. Bit on the expensive side but its a premium property and has a kind of artistic flavor to it. Room was thoughtfully decorated with custom made wooden furniture and paintings. AC in the 1st room that we checked was leaking water but on request we were moved to another room promptly without much hassle. Pool location is awesome. It is well maintained, water is clean and is continuously guarded. Food spread in the buffet was decent and the quality/taste of the food was good. Above all the service was excellent. All restaurant staff members were courteous and attentive. We had to leave early morning on the last day - before their usual breakfast timings - but the staff made sure we did not leave hungry. They packed delicious poha and sandwiches for us. Overall had a great experience !

I stayed here with my wife and daughter overnight in April 2013. Just 117 km from Mumbai it's ideally located on Mumbai nashik highway. Very well maintained property with clean swimming pool.it also has artificial waterfall that falls into kids pool. Good valley views and good choice of rooms from apartments to villas. Nice food and very good service. If you want to just relax and don't want to go too far from Mumbai, try this place. Great weekend gateway. Caveat - food prices are slightly high!!

Room Tip: Ask for valley facing apartments if its small family or else go for valley facing villa.
