“Ganpati Pule”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2008

Sparkling blue waters, endless stretches of golden or silver sand, sun beams dancing through the swaying palms, waves playing with the sand dunes, a cool breeze whispering sweet nothings in your ear. This is the land of Ganpatipule, one of Maharashtra's almost virgin beaches.

Nestled in the greenery is a nearly 4000 year old landmark the Swayambhu Ganpati Temple (Swayambhu means a self-originated idol, Ganapati). It is flooded by thousands of devotees and tourists every year. Ganpatipule, the Lord of the 'ganas' or army and "pule" means sand dunes. It is one of the 'Ashta Ganapatis' (eight Ganpatis) of India and is known as 'Paschim Dwar Dewata' (Western Sentinel God). Ganapatipule is a small village, serene, sedate and unspoilt. The beach here is still natural and pristine as ever. And travelling by road is an experience by itself. The vast 'Konkan stretch abounds with scenic greenery There are narrow mud-roads, the earth is red and the roofed houses with clean courtyards add a quaint touch to the panorama. The local vegetation includes fruit-bearing trees like mango, betelnut, banana, jackfruit, coconut etc.

“Best Sea Beach in Maharashtra”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2008

Ganpatipule is the best and really untouched sea beach I have ever visited. This is really a untouched beach just like Goa. You wil get everything of a sea beach or are expected to get in Goa but in just half the price. If you are coming from Mumbai or Pune then the distance is just half as compare to Goa. Anyone liveing in pune or Mumbai can easyly planed a weekend . I recomend Hotel Abhishek is the best Hotel in Ganpatipule . All the rooms of this hotel are Sea View rooms.

“Fantastic place in the Konkan Region - Dist. - Ratnagiri”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2008

I was looking forward to this visit to Ganpatipule for quite some time...but it really happened around the end of monsoon...in August.
I was especially worried of the travel because i was not alone. I was with my wife and son...so the travel, stay had to be very good.

My travel to pune to Ratnagiri was amazing via a sleeper coach...after getting fresh in Ratnagiri we started our journey to Ganpatipule in a private car...only 30 KM. but it was amazing...the skies were clear...the climate was pleasent...the surroundings were dense green...just like a dream (Come true)
Ganpatipule is a religious place with a fantastic Ganpati Temple & a tourist place with a amazing seashore...you have to see it to believe it...it is inviting...the clean shore...clean water.
Our first aim was to take the blessings of Lord Ganesha...that was the main intention of coming to Ganpatipule...Darshan was good...as per our wish. After the darshan we went for a "Pradakshina" around a hill...a distance of about 1 kilometer.
Our next POA was to have lots of coconut water...one cannot miss that...and then get into your trunks and get yourself drenched in the salty, clean water. It is an amazing experience...my son was not ready to come out of water even for lunch...it was a long wait for me to convince him to get back to lunch with a promise of coming back.
The stay in Ganpatipule is equally comfortable...i suggest book a space at the MTDC on the shore itself
Around Ganpatipule you have many places to visit...you can go to a place called Pawas.
September to Feb. is the best season to visit Ganpatipule
