“Cloudy at the top”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

There is a small Jain shrine at the top of the hill - the day we visited, it was very cloudy - but locals inform us that on clear summer days, the sunset view is awesome (as good or better than the more famous Agumbe sunset) and the Arabian sea is visible. The road to the top is motor able (we navigated an Innova) - but VERY narrow and full of sharp and steep hair-pin bends. Luckily,we did not encounter any traffic from the opposite direction, otherwise we would have been in trouble!

“nice place for nature lovers”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

had been there couple of times. it is just 25 kmtrs away from my native place thirthahalli.
you have to go up in the mountain. once you go there you will realize the worth of going. there is an old temple also up in the mountain. spectacular mountain view from the top. nice sunset as well. you can spend dome time there for fresh air. no worries for travel road. it is newly constructed tarr road. road is like ghat road with several turns. our ride was through bajaj pulsur. it is thrilling ride to the top from thick forests.
carry some food. there is not a single shop or toilet or anything else available on the top.
we went there as couple. but be careful if you are going as a couple. there is security guard also in the entrance whcih is good for us. dont go if you do not have driving license. he caught us red handed but let us go as we are married couple.

nice place and must visit if you are a nature lover but not worth of travelling from long distance to visit this place.

“Best spot for sunset”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Kundadri is lesser known hill near Agumbe. It has a small jain temple on top and offers amazing view. Not to mention the curvy and steep uphill road. If you're a driving enthusiast, you'll enjoy your drive up & down. If you're not a confident driver, take an expert with you.

Once on top you can enjoy scenic view, sunset and get close with clouds if you're lucky. Expect full mist if you can manage to reach there before daybreak.

Agumbe is the closest place to stay. Add this place to your plan if you're visiting Agumbe/Srikeri/Tirthahalli etc

“A great place to rewind !!”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Visited this place from Agumbe. It is nearly 14km from Agumbe. We had a Auto who took us till the top though one can walk all the way to top of the hill. Its not a trek but walk on the road.

Located around 950m ASL, this place offers best view of Western Ghats around. The main attraction of the place is the ancient Jain Temple which is 2000 years old ( to be confirmed). The place is not much crowded except when there is a festival. The priest gives a brief history of the temple.

One can see old Jain thirtankara's idols. The priest of temple says that some time drunk people destroy some of the idols kept outside. This has harmed some of the idols. A lonely temple and pond of fresh water with clouds gushing through gives the place a lot of charm. One can enjoy the silent atmosphere. Listen to the sounds of Clouds gushing.

Ensure not to venture towards the edges of hill. A lot of rain makes these rocks slippery. Priest reports that many incidents and accidents happen since people do not follow advice on slippery rocks.

Over All : A great place to rewind !!

“Kundadri Trekking”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

If you want to enjoy the trip to Kundadri, you should scale this hill by foot. What a desi mountaneering experience!. In terms of publicity it is a poor cousin to Himalayan trekking, but it does give you satisfaction when you scale this hill. You can walk alongside clouds when you are on top of Kundadri! Though, the vehicle can go very much up to the peak, you should venture on your legs only!
