We had an opportunity to experience this wonderful property last week. Two aspects that clearly sets this property apart is the location and food. The hosts (The Krupal couple) are very kind and hospitable and go an extra mile to ensure that the guests have a memorable stay. The rooms are spacious and the house as such is an amazing treasure. The toilets are clean and are well spaced. The access to the river from the property and around the small village is enthralling. The traditional malnad cuisine is a delight to eat and the simplicity of the dishes make you feel at home. There are a host of attractions to visit which are all in close proximity to the Gabadi River Edge.

A perfect place as base camp for cycling trips to Kundadri, Sringeri, Agumbe and Kupalli. I've had the best food here in long time. Finely prepared Malnad styled food. If you are on a diet, you will tip over!

Krupal's family have maintained the property very well. Nice sit out at the top overlooking the Tunga river. The rooms are kept clean. The family is also sensitive about the kind of visitors and hence it is ideal to go there with family.

Stayed for 2 nights, Mr and Mrs. Kurpal really take care of you like it was home. Great food and stay. My kid enjoyed paying with the pets (dogs and cats). Idyllic surroundings and perfect waypoint if you are visiting the area.

We stayed there for 3 nights during our family vacation. We enjoyed the delicious and generous servings of food and excellent overall hospitality. The first impression that we had of the house was this "Good Old Charm"; surrounded by lush greenery in the front yard and the mighty river Tunga on the edge.
Mr Krupal and his family were gave us ideas for day trips near the homestay. His recommendation to visit Kundalli (Kuvempu's Ancestral Home) and Sirimane Falls near Sringeri were the best part of our entire vacation.
We drove all the way from Hyderabad in the monsoon (about 11 hr journey) with good roads and lush greenery/forestry once you enter Shimoga Region.

Room Tip: Visit the balcony/terrace area for some great views of the Tunga River. Carry a pair of Binoculars a...

We went as a group of 20 andit was great. The food is truly remarkable and the hospitality is truly wonderful. The antique feel of the house, the pets the well maintained gardens, the view of the river, the accessibility from the main road, everything makes it an easy choice of a place to stay if you are in shimoga.
Highly recommended!!! :-)

We visited the place with our lil daughter who was 9 months old.
This being her first trip, she thoroughly enjoyed the place and played with the pets there. A complete home environment with heavenly food. We visited sakkarebailu which is an elephant camp and also a sunset point.
